"This hotel gets a bad rap from folks. I have been from Imperial Beach (south CA) to Crescent City ( north CA). All of these little city look the same. All of the hotels are older. They are not five star hotels. Oceanfront is the same. Dated and old. BUT, that is not why you go there. It is the view from your room. Oceanfront has wonderful views!
Here is the break down. While it is old, Here are pros and cons. CONS; TV channels, only Roku TV hated it. WiFi, shoty at best. PROS; room was clean. Bed was very comfortable. Towels were nice. Water pressure was great. Hard wood floors instead of old carpet. Nice and helpful staff. Restaurant and bar on site, breakfast was very good. A little pricey but good. Did I mention the view, incredible! We left our balcony door open all night and listened to the waves. Wonderful. People say only fast food restaurants around, we found 6 nice restaurants to sit down and eat at. Good food. Don’t go there expecting the Carlton, go there to enjoy the ocean and the Redwoods. They are magnificent. "
