"The hotel room was attractive and clean. The food was well cooked, both in the bistro and in the restaurant. The staff were friendly and helpful. The hotel is in a park so had pleasant surroundings, a place to leave the car free of charge and quiet for a good night's sleep. We were surprised that the bar closed by ten at night, which seemed too early. Otherwise, this hotel made our time in the capital extremely enjoyable."

"Loved the location, walking distance to all attractions. Parking lot also extremely useful. Lovely walking into a cool apartment thanks to the AC. Bed was not the greatest but minor detail, close to the ground since we stayed in the attic. But not enough of a deterrent to keep us from returning. Enjoyed our stay."

"There was refurbishment taking place"

"We loved staying at the Occidental Ljubljana. The rooms were spotless and the location is excellent - steps away from old town. However, one caution is that the bathroom is not a traditional layout. The sink is fully open and visible to anyone in the room (no walls at all) and the shower and toilet are in separate stalls. If you prefer to change in the bathroom or use the sink in private, it is a bit difficult in this bathroom layout. But other than that, it is an excellent hotel."

"Our family room was in the attic. If you are tall, you will bump your head in the sleeping areas. Staff is wonderful, warm, welcoming. Breakfast is limited, typical pension fare with no daily variation - cold cuts, bread, cheese etc and eggs to order. There is a nearby farmers market with fresh fruit, local honey for a more local flavor which would be wonderful if incorporated."
