"I really liked this hotel. We got a great room with a view of the water and it was on the corner, so we had windows on two sides. The location is great -- just a few minutes' walk away from the old parts of town and even walking distance from the train station. The only downsides we experienced were that the room is a bit dark (this seems to be a common hotel theme), and there was a strike while we were there, so some of the stuff was closed. But the hotel workers deserve to make a living wage,...

"We enjoyed this as our final stay in Norway after 2 weeks. It was idyllic, scenic, and we loved the hens and chicks free ranging on the property! So cute. The only confusion was that there isn't any signage directing you where to go when you arrive. We accidentally went to the door of their main home that is pictured in the Expedia listing, instead of the home that is the rental described. I had to message them when we arrived for clarification. Other than that, the stay was very relaxing....

"Great central location with breakfast and dinner buffet included. Beautiful old building with a lot of history. Bergen center being easy to get around and with their diverse weather which runs from heavy downpours to sunshine in June, it’s lovely to be able to drop back to the hotel to dry off and warm up with unlimited complimentary tea and coffee in the very comfortable lounge. And head back out. The staff were all super friendly and helpful. It’s definitely worth the splurge as I think it...

"Our room was delightful and would have rated 5/5 if considered in isolation. However our 80 year old travelling companions who arrived around 7pm in the evening were told that even though they had booked and prepaid 6 months previously that the hotel was fully booked. They were shunted to an adjoining house and given an attic room accessed by an extremely steep staircase effectively a ladder. Compared to our room in the hotel itself, it was spartan. So that was disappointing and left a bad taste...
