"This hotel is a real gem. It has significant history in time and place and with significant patrons over the years. The staff was exceptional at the reception, the door and the bar/restaurant. The location was perfect, close to everything, including the main railway station, the National Museum and the State Opera. Could walk to most famous sites. The breakfast was exceptional, plentiful, with many choice on the menu. When I go back to Prague I will surely stay in the Esplanade."

"The location is great, roughly 15 min walk from the old town. I had a beautiful view of the National Museum from the balcony. Great if you're the type of traveller that is always out an about. It was a good stay for me. But for a place that calls itself "a home away from home" it was missing a couple of touches. Two coffee pods, but no sugar or tea for the people that don't drink coffee. Some washing up liquid, so you're not cleaning the dishes with just water. Paper towels, so you're not drying dishes with bathroom towels 😅 Just small additions that would make the stay a little easier. "

"Great location. Friendly, helpful and professional staff. Spacious and clean room. Bed mattresses were a bit too hard. The shower has only a piece of glass to stop the water from spilling out into the bathroom but it’s very small and water gets all over the floor. Not very safe. Overall a positive experience."

"location is quite far out of prague center, about 30-45 minutes on Metro and 45-60 by tram. Check in was slow and staff didn't really seem to know what they were doing. I did try the self check in machine but they didn't work. In the morning using the lift was a disaster, sometimes talking up to 15 minutes to get from room to reception. The place was so busy that when u was leaving I couldn't get out the door! There was a large group who decided to block the door and nobody could get past. I bought late check out. First time I tried to get back into the room the key didn't work. Back down 18 floors on the slowest lift in the world. I went back later just before I was due to checkout and the key didn't work. I stood in a queue, 5 members of staff ignored me.. they walked past, chatted to each other and eventually I had to interrupt. They key eventually was reactivated and after the door journey back up... the key didn't work. AGAIN! I was told it was because it was last checkout time... yes, because the key didn't work! Another return trip on the slowest lift and finally it worked. You could excuse things like this if the price reflects the service. Staff all seemed very young and not well trained or knowledgeable and room was not good value."

"1. This is my first time booking a hostel place. I was shock that male gender was shared our room. Maybe because we never had a hostel in states. 2. Need extra hook in shower area to hang our clothes."
