I knew from the pictures not to expect luxury but it was less attractive in person. The building had the feel of an old roadside motel and I would not have felt safe or secure there if I had been traveling alone. "If you are looking for something a bit different for a special stay this place ticks all the boxes. A very peaceful location. The Old Station and carriages are maintained to a very high standard. The staff were very responsive to any requests. We had a lovely breakfast sitting under sun shades on the platform, as the weather was very warm. The carriages were cool despite it being 36° as shutters could be closed over the windows. Very comfortable bed."
