Lovely Lake Lure Anniversary
This was our first trip to 1927 Lake Lure Hotel but not the last I hope. Staff was excellent and so helpful. The room was very clean. The whole property is so pretty and the antiques are a very nice touch in the lobby as well as on every landing. The only thing I would add is to have restaurant open we would have rather to have eaten there. Hope to come back with my best friends for a girl trip soon.

This was a very nice, clean hotel with very friendly staff. The only thing was I thought our room would be in the part of the inn but instead it was in their motel annex section. Still very nice and clean but not what I was expecting.

Overall it was a wonderful place to stay as always. I had four rooms. One was extremely NOT cleaned…. Lots of hair in the bed and in the floor and bathroom. It was a room for one of my kids and his family and he didn’t tell me or show me til too late to say anything. Room was musty also. Everything else was really nice.

This is such a charming property and location. I wanted to love it, BUT the rooms are tiny and ours positively reeked of mildew. We had booked a two night stay, but decided to leave after the first night. The person at the front desk was extraordinarily kind, refunding our second night, giving us a discount on the first night, and apologizing profusely. I was really expecting to have to pay the full amount, so that was really nice.

Somewhere in time
We felt like we were "Somewhere in Time" The room had a king bed where a Queen would have been sufficent have to admitt we are spoiled with Hilton Hotels but for a change we were pleasantly suprised

We enjoyed this historic place especially all the art, music boxes and antiques throughout. The room was cozy and quiet with a beautiful view of Lake Lure. The staff was exceptionally friendly and accommodating. Thank you for a wonderful stay to celebrate our anniversary.

We'll Be Back!
This is our second stay at the hotel. We love the history, the views of the lake and the mountains! We also love the fact that it's pet friendly. Drinks at The Moose & Goose Lounge is always a must. We'll be back next summer for our annual visit!

The hotel has a beautiful historic lobby and hallways. The room we stayed in was basic, but comfortable. There are only a few eating options within walking distance, but they are not open every day. The free breakfast was muffins, bagels, coffee, and juice. It is easy to walk around the lake and purchase a boat tour. There is shopping in the nearby town of Chimney Rock.

The best feature is location - right across the street from a lovely man-made lake with clean sand beach and clear warm water. Also there's a nice outdoor pool behind the Inn with lawn and shade trees. And staff were very friendly and helpful. Free continental breakfast was more than most hotels offer. Nearby town of Chimney Rock has pleasant shops and restaurants. The downside is like many old hotels, it's showing its age. It's a bit dreary in the lobby. The bathroom is tiny. Very limited days/hours for the restaurant and bar. Our room was on the 3rd (top) floor, and the water pressure in the shower was VERY weak. No AC or heat in the bathroom so it quickly became uncomfortable. Even the tissues and toilet paper were cheap.

Fascinating history of hotel. Decorations and large music machines worth the visit. Wish we would have made Sunday brunch looked really good. Rooms are small but clean and neat. Would go back centrally located, walk to beach, and restaurants.

Overall our stay was wonderful! The majority of the staff were friendly and helpful. Our room was never cleaned, just serviced with towels and trash taken out just once. The pool was beautiful and the surrounding area and view was stunning! The staff were kind, except for just one on Sunday evening who put a bigger focus on phone calls rather than immediately helping guests. We enjoyed our stay and would definitely come back!

We had a lovely stay for our anniversary weekend! Very nostalgic! Loved everything about it! Restaurant was reasonable AND delicious! Real keys to the rooms with vintage key tags. Just wonderful!

Lovely historic hotel
Lovely old hotel. Nice amenities. Great staff. Wish the bar had been open and the restaurant but we were there on a Sunday and Monday. The pool area is very nice. Quiet. A very relaxing stay. Take a drive up to the Defiant distillery.

The property & hotel was absolutely beautiful. The only problem was the waitress, she never checked back about our food and finally had to ask one of the young men for a refill on our drinks. Also wanted extra dressing on my salad but she never came back and could not get her attention. It was not that busy. Service was disappointing.

I really enjoyed staying in the inn. Rooms are very quaint. Even though the rooms and showers are small, but that should be expected. Will definitely go again. Love the outdoor pool!

My wife and I went for the weekend and we left the card they request you to leave on the bed for a linen change. When we returned to our room later that day the towels had been picked up and the trash bags changed however the linen on the bed was never changed. The bed was very uncomfortable. It was okay for just a weekend getaway for couple with no kids but this isn’t a place we will be taking our family.

We like the old world charm of the Inn. The girl that checked us in wasn't the most personable, but the woman that checked us out was very friendly and funny. The "breakfast included" was just Bagels, toast, juice and sugary cereals, they should specify on line that it is a continental breakfast.My wife doesn't do carbs so she couldn't eat.

Stunning Hotel transports you to 1927 a Must Stay
When you first walk in you are transported back to 1927, it was amazing! The furniture, artwork and the entire feel is amazing. We were hoping to experience a ghost nut nothing happened, even though we were on the second floor. Beeakfast was nice just had hoped for better optuons considering the price and atmosphere of Inn. Pool was incredible, overlooked Lake Lure and deep end. Gardens were amazing, and within walking distance of beach, small water park, restaurants, boat and kayak rentals and within walking distance of chimney rock too.

Great location and excellent staff!
We stayed in the Annex building next to the hotel over the 4th of July. The room was cozy and just what we needed. The location is excellent we just walked across to the beach and watched the fire works on a private road behind our building no one else knew about and had a great view. Melinda at the front desk was super sweet and helpful. All the staff were great and helpful. The room is dated but was comfortable and just what we needed.

A Great Place to Stay in Lake Lure
Lake Lure is a nice little getaway, and the 1927 Lake Lure Inn is a great place to stay. We stayed in the motor lodge part and, while the room was very basic and had a small bathroom, it was still spacious with a comfy bed. We paid $10 extra to get a refrigerator and microwave, it was delivered promptly by a friendly gentleman. The staff was also very friendly and helpful. The continental breakfast was a little lacking, as it appeared they were running short, since it seemed the offering got shorter each day of our trip. The lobby had a very historic feel, with vintage furniture and pictures of Presidents and other important dignitaries who have stayed there giving it a very elegant feel. Overall, we enjoyed our stay. Lake Lure is a nice little getaway place, and the 1927 Lake Lure Inn is a great place to enjoy the peace and quiet.

The online pictures look so beautiful, but the hotel is in need of major restoration, it is very dilapidated and dirty. We were put in the motor inn that’s attached and it’s awful, the room was tiny and the shower was worse, we even showered with shoes on! It is beyond overpriced from what the accommodations are, the free breakfast is a joke and the restaurant and pub weren’t even open while we stayed. Will not return.
