This place should close down, never exist in a beautiful place like Tahoe. This place is a disaster and should be prevented from spoiling people’s experiences. A dog house would smell better I imagine.. please avoid at any cost.

Very enjoyable location, I like The old school taste to the property keeps it conventional & for a great price.staff was very helpful with my booking. Close to all restaurants walking distance. Beautiful scenery. I would say give this place a try. Thanks trailhead for the clean room an appreciate the helpful staff for my after hours arrival

With all the money you guys want to charge for staying the night you would want to have clean respectable rooms and customer service. We work on the roads around you and work night shift

This is a great hotel because of the pet friendly stay - for that I was really happy to find a place where I could take my pups. I wasn't expecting a high quality stay at all, because from my experience, the hotels in South Lake Tahoe, are not. Here is what I didn't like - the communication of the staff was less than par, causing a big issue for me. I thought I changed my reservation to 2 nights only to be told that I had to go to the office and rebook the room. Huge Inconvenience for me that I ended up checking out a day early. I didn't like the hotel was not more accommodating. Also, I didn't have good wi-fi at all while at this location. Please double check prior to going, if you need good wi-fi, this isn't the place for you to go. I had to drive to Starbucks for things that I needed. The room was clean, the bed was comfortable, and the dogs were welcome. That was all good. Customer service and wifi need work.

Unfortunately our stay got off to a rough start. The room hadn’t been properly cleaned before we arrived - there was visible dust and grime in several spots, plus a foul smell that lingered the whole time we were there. The bedding was in poor condition too, which didn’t help. On top of everything, the shower was leaking when we got there. To their credit, the maintenance team was quick to respond and got the shower fixed without much hassle. That part of the experience was handled well. Beyond that, there was no wifi during our stay, which was a real inconvenience. And the owner came across as unfriendly and unwelcoming - not the kind of hospitality you’d hope for. Between the cleanliness issues, bad bedding, foul odor, lack of wifi, and the owner’s attitude, it left a bad overall impression. Would think twice about booking again.

The jacuzzi had some issues. We had to wait to fill it because the got water ran out. Also, the air from the jets smelled bad.

I've stayed in most of South Lake's "cheap" hotels over the years for 1-nighters between ski days, and this one was probably the best for the price. Spacious with a good bed and good shower. No frills, but thoughtful decorative touches made Trailhead feel fresh, mountain-y and welcoming.

The rooms were clean just had a weird smell but nothing to bad the ac was working so room was nice and cold working tv and microwave with a mini fridge it was nice and cozy the only thing is that the stairs are a bit old and need work staff was great they communicated perfectly no issues

Consider no internet. No antenna and when it does connect, it is so slow it doesn’t even load a page. No coffee maker in the room. Ok clean but the old look will throw you off. Staff were nice.

Horrible place to stay at. Looks like it’s family owned but the office/check in desk is nasty and dirty. They keep a dog there as well. The staff who checked me in was extremely unhelpful. The checkout staff was a little better. The place stinks though and looks like people live in some of these rooms. One room had 2 cats some cars that did not move. Looked like apartments more than a hotel/lodging. Raccoons came because of all the mess due to people who live there. 100% do not recommend staying here at all. Save your money and your well being. Bunch of crackheads I think.
