"Quality of food served in restaurant. Expensive for highly processed portions eg frozen dipper style chips with a meal of fish and chips and my partner had the fish pie that looked and tasted like a budget frozen meal available from a supermarket. However reception and serving staff were very friendly and efficient.
Bathroom needs up grading. Old style mira shower over a bath and no handrail for additional support
The setting was superb. Sad that the hotel doesn’t live up to present day...

"Used the spa was lovely but had 2 screaming children and parents there which meant not very relaxing.

"Stay at this hotel. It felt like our home away from home in Edinburgh. Rianne (I think that’s how her name is spelled) and the staff were so welcoming and accommodating, which makes a big difference when you’re traveling in a foreign country. The bed was comfy, the breakfast was the best we had at any hotel in Scotland, the location was excellent - central to everything but still pretty quiet for a good night’s rest. Also, we always saw the housekeeping team working very hard to keep the hotel...
