"I arrived before official check in time and was able to get checked in no problem.. I has the same room as my trip... Room was clean tidy bed was very comfortable I left early so didn't have breakfast"

"We stayed 5 nights — 3 in the Cosy Room, 2 in the Family Room. Overall a lovely, easy stay let down by several small maintenance issues that would be simple to fix. The good: - Staff were genuinely friendly throughout - Great walks nearby - Joiners Arms pub is a 5-minute walk away - Easy to get to, comfortable beds - Hot tub in the Family Room was a winner Room for improvement: - Ventilation: The room with the mini fridge/safe/hangers in the Cosy Room gets like a sauna. No airflow, and the fridge just adds heat - Water pressure: Bathroom tap in both rooms sprays hard every time you turn it on - Shower: Half-glass wall in both rooms; in the Cosy Room the shower space is small so water ends up everywhere - Flooring: Uneven laminate in the Cosy Room, mainly bathroom and fridge room - Garden: Not fully enclosed — lovely but keep an eye on dogs; a small gate would help - Breakfast: Hot food (avocado on toast, eggs on toast) took 35+ min both mornings at the Joiners Arms — felt disorganised. Continental options were fine. Bagged breakfast good for on-the-go, but missing condiments one day - Housekeeping: A few cobwebs in the bathroom; shower mat/towel wasn't replaced one day None of these are very bad items individually, but together they take the stay from great to just good. Address the small issues and this would easily be a 5-star spot."

Waterford Lodge Hotel

"Room Essentials provided. Lacked bedside shelf or table. Had to stand on stool to open only small window. Plenty of tea, coffee, milk etc. shower fine. Very clean. Could do with a chair. Fan provided but not used. Parking behind hotel. Could see car from room. Breakfast very good. 8.3am last time a bit early for us. Felt we got good value. Didn't need to have other meals there or use bar but premises spacious, nice decor, menu looked fine and staff very friendly and helpful."

"Our room was lovely, it would have been nice not to look out on the car park, but sea view rooms were more expensive. All facilities were in place - kettle, teas, coffee, biscuits- Ringtons ginger biscuits, yum. Iron and ironing board, plenty of plug points at the bedside. We also had a standing fan that we used, as the room was very warm- no air con, but it keep us cool whilst sleeping. I showered and washed my hair the next morning, then discovered that there was no hairdryer!! So had to let it dry naturally and go to breakfast with damp hair. That said had I have known there wasn't a hairdryer before I washed my hair, I could have requested one from reception. The breakfast was very nice we, both (me and the hubby), had a full English and really enjoyed it. The previous evening we had food there and we were both very happy with our meals. We really enjoyed our stay."

Doxford Hall Hotel & Spa

"Brilliant hotel in beautiful surroundings. The whole area just feels lovely. Outside you had the maze and mature gardens with lots of areas to sit and relax. It was very peaceful and calm and very pretty. Inside there were lovely nooks and crannies to sit and chill from the library to an elegant lounge and the bar area. We had a nosy into the gym and pool area although didn't use them and they looked great too. Our room was spotlessly clean as was the whole hotel and eating areas. Our room was very comfortable with a lovely bathroom which was well equipped with fluffy towels and spa body wash and shampoo. There was plenty of choice at breakfast and the food we had was tasty. We didn't eat dinner at the hotel as we were out and about but it did look lovely. All the staff were very friendly and cheery and a credit to your hotel. I would 100% recommend this hotel and we hope to visit again sometime."
