"I stayed here for a family reunion. I actually purchased several rooms for my family. I reviewed the other room and I received feedback from Hampton basically saying I lied or that was my interpretation. I stated my room smelled like a wet dog and that there had been a spider in the bathroom. Thier response was they checked my room and they didn't see a spider and the room smelled fine to them. Well of course I killed the spider. I didn't say it was infested. The room does smell however. ...

"I am not one to complain but I feel that I have to make others aware of the issues we had at this hotel. The air conditioner did not cool the room, the refrigerator was rusty inside and iced over and the toilet would not flush in our initial room. We moved to the room next door. The air conditioner did work. The toilet flushed but rocked because it was not secured to the floor."

"Hotel Roanoke is the gold standard for the city. Great on prem restaurant - one of the best eggs benny I’ve ever had. Rooms fairly spacious for a legacy hotel. Amenities top drawer. Easy walking distance to downtown. Worth the premium."
