Lovely comfortable rooms, nice and clean and an easy to use hot shower. Great staff. Only down side was arriving on a cold rainy February afternoon and the rooms were very cold as the heating hadn’t been put on before we arrived. We walked back into town and bought a half price hot water bottle each while the rooms warmed up a bit. Other than that all was good.

A really good back street pub, with a choice of local ales (Bateman's among others) decent music, nice beer garden/courtyard for Spring and Summer months and a generally, good vibe. The landlady was extremely friendly and accommodating - no problems checking in a little earlier. Parking permit provided too. Think it was ensuite - large bathroom adjacent to our room. Easy access when driving into Lincoln, but no more than a 10-15 minute (albeit uphill!) walk to the Cathedral, castle and excellent pubs near Steep Hill Heaters provided, though the bathroom especially, on the cold side. Breakfast would have been a bonus. Overall, really happy and would definitely stay again when next in Lincoln.

Great place … just what we needed.. clean, comfortable and friendly. Stayed 2 nights for Daughters graduation… wasn’t disappointed. Great location, friendly staff and locals. Would we stay again…. Absolutely!

Ideal pub stay

Pleasant pub. No issues. Parking pass handed out right away. Made to feel welcome. Plenty of locals and regulars in the bar going about their business and was lovely to see. Shown to room, access no matter what the hour either through the pub or side entrance. Room was spacious and clean. Good shower facility. No issues for an overnight stay to wander into Lincoln.

We only booked The Queen In The West the night before staying. We called and spoke to a member of staff about a couple of questions we had, they answered all our questions being incredibly friendly and knowledgeable. Our welcome was perfect, the lady was very helpful and welcoming. The room was a good size with a bathroom right next door but no one else used it as it was at the top of the stairs. Everything was very clean. My only comment is that the room we stayed in (room 2) was up some very steep stairs. This may be an issue for some people.

Great Hotel

Really great rooms, comfortable beds, nice bathrooms. Everything was clean and in good working order. The staff were really nice, letting us drop our bags off prior to check in. The area is really quiet so a good night's sleep was had. The hotel is 10 mins walk away from the city centre.

I wasn't sure if the sheets had been washed. The room smelled very strongly of artificial air freshener which made me gag & was there to cover up another smell. As a woman travelling on my own it didn't feel safe as there are two exit doors, one passing through a pub courtyard full of noisy drunk men & the other directly onto the street and I didn't know who had a key. The only ventilation in the bathroom was the open window which i couldn't close and directly outside were the noisy drunk men so I couldn't shower until pub closing time & it was freezing cold. None of the electrical items were PAT tested and some were unsafe, extension cables overloaded with plugs etc. I was cold because the cheap heater didn't work. Neither did the fan or the bedside light, internet wasn't good. There was no parking as advertised, just on-street parking in a rough area, it didn't feel safe to leave the car. The mattress was old and hard, nothing was clean, the furniture was a random selection of old things that looked like they came from a skip. I was hassled by a man when I unloaded the bags because its not a good area. I didn't want to use the towels or get into the bed or touch anything, the carpet was sticky. I had to wash all my unused clothes when I got home to get rid of the smell. Do not stay here, this is not modern hospitality, there are clean, safe, well run places that cost less. If I'd paid £10 a night I'd have been disappointed. If I ran this place, I'd be ashamed.

Very enjoyable stay

Very good .A traditioal locals type pub Very welcoming and friendly. Good value for price Details did say towels not supplied which may put some people off but they were supplied Would stay again if in the area .

Very good overnight stay, room was clean & comfortable, had the large bathroom all to myself. The bar had a good range of beers and friendly locals made for good company. About a 10minute walk to the Cathedral & Castle so was very happy with the location. I would definitely stay again when I next visit Lincoln.
