"I stupidly asked Gemini " I want to surprise my daughter with a weekend away, the destination doesn't matter the highlight of the trip is the hotel" and The Earl of Doncaster came up, as one of the options on the train route selected The staff were lovely from the off, both front of house and bar staff, but it wasn't the experience I wanted. We stayed in room 215, in the right corner of the room had major water damage, wall paper and ceiling were brown. The bathroom was nice enough, wet room and everything looked clean. The ceiling maybe made of papier mache as you can hear every footstep from the rooms above Finally, the actual stay, 215 is above the function room, I had a 7 year old in tears as she couldnt get to sleep.as the noise was ridiculous, the volume was reduced around 11:45 but it could still be heard. I mentioned it on the way out when I was asked how my stay was, the reponse to my honest feedback "we cant control noisy guests" Anyway, I'd say fine as a base for the races if you're planning to make noise yourself, otherwise avoid."
