The foyer is incredible and very grand, but as you venture further into the hotel you see doors with missing paint, one lift out of order (has been for a while from other reviews). There were marks on the bedroom walls and the windows were absolutely filthy and in need of washing, the bathroom had mould in the sealant. The wooden window frames were flaking. "Reception staff were lovely and welcoming. Room was clean and comfortable. Breakfast was gorgeous.
However the spa area was dreadful, gym was small changing rooms were awful, run down and grubby. No private changing facilities. Tiles were mouldy the toilets smelt very bad. In the pool area the whole area was grubby bits of tiles missing and covered with masking tape. The tiles around the hot tub were mouldy, window sills were rotting and flaking away. Not what I expected from a luxury chain...
