The rooms need to be updated including the carpet. Great location with 2 Tube stations nearby and the hotel is right across the road from Hyde Park.

Location - Great, can’t fault location. Hotel Room - some furniture Outdated made the room appear dark. Bathroom - Shower over Bathroom. Hopping into the bath you must be careful if you have knee instability. No place for hand towels or hooks for towels. Toilet pressure not great. Air conditioning didn’t seem to work properly. Told reception. Room phone not working, light in entry area of room not working Served tea and two cups were dirty, told staff member. Next day at breakfast found another dirty cup, told the Chef this was the 2nd time. Breakfast good selection. This would not be my first choice next time even IF location is great.

This property is in a stunning location. The view from my room is amazing. The only thing I would say is the room is a little snug so much so that you can’t even open the main door to the room fully. You definitely pay for the views here. That said the staff were very friendly and our room was clean. Lovely location. Would definitely recommend. The size of the room is the only reason this hotel doesn’t get a 5 star review.

Great stay. Property and staff were excellent. The breakfast was well worth the extra cost. Centrally located and next to the park which was very nice. Only issue was the AC didn’t work the first night but they gave us a new room the 2nd night

Upgraded to a room that smelt of cigarettes… more so the bathroom. Air conditioning set and not adjustable so it was either cold where you wrapped up to then too hot that you chuck the covers off. A sleepless night. The air conditioning was locked out to central control and unchangeable in the room.

So I asked for a late checkout which all was confirmed. Day of checkout I call reception for final arrangements when a rude clueless person (African accent) picks up the phone and tells me that for late checkout I will be charged 20 pounds per hour. I explained to him that this has all been previously agreed and confirmed late checkout at no extra fees especially that I am an elite status member and normally don’t have issues with this. He refused to understand and kept talking over me and being rude as if he owns the place. I asked for his name several times he refused to give his name and insisted he was the DUTY MANAGER. He then hung up on me. I tried calling reception again (by calling number 0) but no one answered. Later I got another call from a different person saying that I need to check out, when I told them their previous colleague confirmed late checkout now but with a fees this person said they cannot even give late checkout with a fees because the hotel is over booked. Now it seems that the staff are not even communicating between each other. I went down to reception to see what the issue is. The man who spoke to me on the phone claiming he was the duty manager was no where to be found. The staff at reception also said they were not sure who he was and were not able to give me more details. So many problems I do not know where to start. Useless hotel. Silly person claiming to be a manager should not be given a phone - he should work in the zoo as a cleaner.

Loved our stay here! If you're looking for a quiet and safe place to stay out of the hustle and bustle of London with a parking garage look no more. I was leery at first as I was reading no elevator (lift) with 9 floors, but it does have 3. We arrived early, and they allowed us to bring our luggage in and kept it for us until we could check in. It is directly across the street from Kensington Gardens and a hop and skip from Kensington Palace. The bus lines stop right there, your minutes from Queensway, and a 15 min walk to Paddington Station. The hotel is clean, with a clean room, and was quiet at night. All staff were friendly and informative. The restaurant wasn’t too bad either with just as nice staff.

Thistle Hyde Park is a modern, clean, very comfortable property. Super comfortable beds, modern bathroom with wonderful shower. I especially appreciated the staff—they were all so helpful and friendly, taking extra steps to accommodate my needs and questions. The slightly lower rating is due to the shower that dripped all night the first night and was quite annoying—though they fixed it the next day; and the 2:00 am fire alarm where we had to evacuate the hotel (not the hotel’s fault, but it ruined a night’s sleep). I would recommend this property and would stay there again.

Upon arrival, we were warmly greeted by a pleasant young man. Although our room was not ready, we appreciated the offer to store our bags in the meantime. Once we were finally assigned our room, we encountered several issues. Multiple electrical fuses had burned out, leaving half of the outlets unusable. With three people in the room, this made it difficult to charge our devices. Additionally, the safety deposit box was not functioning, which meant we had to carry our cash and passports with us throughout our entire stay. While maintenance eventually addressed the issue, only half the outlets were restored. Are rooms not fully checked before guests arrive? Is there no quality control? The buffet breakfast, while offering a decent variety, was poorly organized. The coffee machines were not working, milk was not replenished, mugs were constantly in short supply, and it took a long time to restock empty food trays. Though there was a good selection of juices, they were placed on a windowsill where direct sunlight left them warm and unpalatable. One unexpected detail was that the hotel is situated above a petrol station. While not problematic, it was unusual and notably absent from any descriptions. However, the convenience store there did come in handy for grabbing snacks and drinks. On a positive note, the room was clean, and the hotel’s location was excellent, right by Hyde Park. The hop-on, hop-off bus stop located at the corner of the hotel was a particularly convenient good

Stayed here for two nights in a king room. Great location with proximity to Paddington station (800 m), and right across the road from Hyde Park. On arrival we were able to check in early. Front desk staff were very courteous and approachable. Room was very clean and fairly spacious for London standards, and we looked out towards the park. Very walkable area, with excellent access to both bus and tube access. We ate in the restaurant one night, comfy seating & atmosphere and food was quite good and comparably priced to other restaurants in London. Would stay here again.
