"The Capital was immaculate and located conveniently near many subway stops and bus routes, including a direct bus to Rikers Island. The staff was the best part of my stay. Chris always went out of his way to be pleasant and helpful, aided by two other young guys and a young woman who all worked the desk. Neighborhood not great. Not much in the way of food, grocery stores, restaurants, etc. Best shop or dine in Manhattan before heading back to LIC for the evening. I was however very unhappy with the fluctuating room rate, which I booked at $106/night but which skyrocket to $259/night at one point -- more than 300 percent. I was there for weeks and think I deserved a break."
