"There isn't enough to justify complaining, but there also isn't enough to justify praise, hence the OKAY rating. Cost was too high for what was being offered, 10 years ago this would have been a $100 hotel stay, not $250, so the price went up but it's still a $100 hotel stay, take what you will from that."

"We had a suite which had nice kitchen amenities and two TVs. Unfortunately, only one of the TVs would work consistently well. We had a balcony with a very nice view, the breakfast was great and changed abit every morning. However, there was no stopper in the bathtub, so I could not take a bath (only a shower). "The property was under construction while we stayed here. I felt taken advantage of because of this. Any other place we could have stayed didn’t have the noise or displacement we felt. I still paid full price for a property that wasn’t a complete product that I paid for. Construction ALL day, maybe a couple hours of no construction while we stayed. "They were renovating we came for overnight stay. We arrived late Tv didn’t work and got woken up at 7:45 by carbon monoxide detector. We got dressed and checked out let front desk know tv was not working and alarm was going off in the room we originally thought it was fire alarm with low battery until front desk agent told us it was carbon monoxide detector she had been getting notice but hadn’t had time to do anything about it. Not sure if low battery or we were lucky to make it out alive....

"The hotel is in an excellent location to MUSC, West Ashley, and James Island. Our room had a beautiful view back toward MUSC and the city. The desk agents were friendly and helpful. While the rooms have been updated there needs to be better maintenance given the older nature of the property. I would stay at this property again but I hope they’ll invest in maintenance a bit more."

"The room itself was beautiful, bed was comfortable, bathroom was great and had great amenities. The hotels ambiance was also great, loved the coffee shop they had in the lobby. The location was also perfect, within walking distance of king st. However this whole experience was ruined by their unprofessional valet. For a hotel that prides itself on luxury, (and that charges ~$50 a night for mandatory valet parking) you would expect halfway decent service. Not a $5k repair bill after the valet...

"Amazing locations and staff. Text concierge was fantastic and onsite valet made getting around so easy. You can book any tour right in the lobby. Breakfast in the cafe was delicious, and the bar staff mixes a mean Carriage ride. Will visit against ASAP."

"Initially, we chose this property for the location because it is so central to all of the attractions everything is walkable and all the great shopping on King Street is just around the corner. We were very happy to find it was such a wonderful property. Certainly provided for all of our necessities and then some. The staff was pleasant and very helpful. We definitely recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a relaxing enjoyable visit to Charleston."
