Mirko was a fantastic host and incredibly helpful throughout my stay. The bedroom was spotlessly clean and tidy, with a very comfortable mattress and pillows. The shower had great water pressure, and I loved the light cotton towels, which dried very quickly. My window overlooked a secluded private garden, and on warm nights I could leave it open and fall asleep to the sound of crickets, then wake up to birdsong in the morning. It felt like being in the middle of a forest. There is also a wall fan to keep the air circulating, which was much appreciated. The location is excellent. Despite being so close to everything, it is wonderfully quiet. All the main sights of the old city are within walking distance, and there are plenty of restaurants, bars and shops nearby. I had an excellent stay and would thoroughly recommend La Colonna. I will definitely be back!

It was so quaint. I had a room with a large window over looking a private garden. So it felt safe, quiet, private and beautiful. The staff were so helpful. And the location was great — right in the middle of the city walls.

This is a difficult property to rate because it is very clean, the location is fantastic, and the owner is very nice, but I was not wowed by anything. There are no amenities, aside from a tea kettle and tea bags in the corridor. These rooms would benefit greatly from even a beverage refrigerator, which typically comes standard-issue nowadays. There's no fridge, so unless any leftovers you may have are non-perishable, then don't bother trying to save them, and I only bought red wine since I had no fridge to keep white in. It really is just a bed, a tiny, cruiseship size bathroom, and a wardrobe with 2 medium sized drawers for storage. I was traveling alone, but this room sleeps 4 people, and I am beyond curious how a family of four would ever fit all of their clothes in the space provided. There's plenty of hanging space in the wardrobe, but only 7 hangers provided. Luckily, I am a very well-travelled person, so I always bring hangers with me, but for someone who doesn't think to do that, this could be an issue. I think next time I will book an apartment, which is not much more $, in order to have a fridge, a stove, a washing machine, some more space and storage. The owner could not have been nicer, and like I said, the property was very clean, but I would spend a little but more to get a little more.

Een heel fijn verblijf gehad. Kamer was bij aankomst al beschikbaar. Fijn bed en voldoende ruimte in de kamer. Badkamer prima maar blijft heel lang vochtig. Puntje ter verbetering: geen plastic bekers. Drankjes verliezen smaak

La Colonna in Lucca - fantastic place!

Our family stayed at La Colonna for 4 days. It was a nice, clean, quiet place to stay and cleanliness is very important to me. Check-in was easy and the host was friendly and gave us great advice on a nearby laundromat and a small cafe. A great place to stay inside the walls of Lucca. Convenient to anyplace you would want to go - restaurants, shopping, sites. We made day trips to Pisa and Sienna and drove around Tuscany. Would definitely stay here again!!

Wonderful place to stay within the walls of Lucca.

Great location within the walls of Lucca. Easy to find from the train station. Very hospitable. Easy self check-in, coffee and tea provided. Small bathroom but not unusual for lodging in old buildings. Luggage storage available.

The hotel was small, room only. The room was very comfortable and the Mirko at reception was so helpful. Tea and coffee available 24 hours. Everything within the walls of Lucca was less than 15 minutes.

Good stay overall, could have been better

Good stay overall, cosy little room on ground floor for this B&B conveniently located within the old city walls. We were a bit dissapointed by two things: 1. breakfast was not included in a Bead & BREAKFAST; 2. we had to wait at the door on the day of our our arrival. I assume low winter season is the reason but still.. Again, the stay was still pleasant but there is room for improvement.

Affittacamere in pieno centro storico
