"This was a great place to stay within walking distance of the downtown area of Lucca. The rooms were large and nice, breakfast was simple yet good and the access to the coffee machine was fantastic! "

"A very easy place to stay in Lucca that is 20 seconds from the train station. All of the hotels and rentals in the old walls are not that quick or easy to get to, and driving within the walls is practically impossible so even taxis can’t always get you there. A good breakfast with options, and very friendly staff throughout. Great value for the money. "

"The classic rooms are very small. There is no sound proofing between rooms and every word said is heard. The halls are narrow. There is a very small elevator. There are no bars in the shower. There are some safety concerns. The property grounds are beautiful. The breakfast is good. The parking is not adequte. There are not enough spaces in any night."

"The positive is the room is spacious and comfortable. That said, their completely automatic system needs a lot of improvement. I couldn't read the messages they sent me through Expedia (not their fault) so I sent text messages and email asking them to contact me one of those ways. (They didn't answer the phone when I called.) I never received a reply, but got more Expedia notifications from them that I couldn't read. I managed to get the online check-in link from Expedia, but it only gave me error messages. When I arrived at the property there were two other people waiting because the automatic check-in system wasn't working. When a man arrived and got it working he still had to talk us each through the check-in procedure, repeating several times, "è completamente automatico." My room, as nice as it is, is up 4 flights of the steepest steps I have ever seen, so if you don't do steps well you may want to reconsider it. The Wi-Fi is slow and sporadic. And one more little but annoying thing, there was only one hanger in the closet. All in all, I think their "completamente automatico" system needs more than some minor tweaking. That frustration, together with the steep stairs, is why I won't return."

"Overall I would rate this a 3.5 stars as the only let down was I had to wait until a cleaner exited the property in order to be able to get in. He personally was very helpful despite not being fluent in English. There was no one at check in (I arrived at 15:05) or check out (10:00 pronto) which was very strange. No message received beforehand with any access codes to enter the building - all I had was an envelope with my name directing me to the allocated room. When I checked out the following morning, again there was no one at the desk so I can only hope the key and my note were received safely. The positives however far outweigh the above negative. Location - excellent! The room and overall cleanliness - superb! I was unable to enjoy the balcony as my room was facing the main road and next to a very busy bar. The ear foams provided next to the bed suddenly made sense and were a lifesaver during the night. Will I return to this hotel if I were ever to visit Lucca again? Absolutely, but I do hope I get to see someone at check in and check out!"

"A well located hotel, just outside the city walls, close to the train station but quiet despite being on a main road.Parking is available. The inclusive spa is a lovely treat, especially if you book this for your arrival day, after travelling in. All staff are customer focussed, helpful, polite and pleasant. Breakfast is very good, plenty to choose from with healthy options and sweet treats. The fish restaurant next door was really nice and had a good choice of meals and wines. Our room (65) was well equipped and a decent size, as was the bathroom but the small shower cubicle was a disappointment given the overall size of the bathroom."
