"Hotel Heron is ideally located in the middle of Old Town Alexandria. Rooms were clean and bed was very comfortable. Kiln onsite restaurant was very good. We did have a couple issues with the room attendant who forgot to replace our wash cloths and made the bed with two top sheets instead of using a bottom fitted sheet. The sheet you laid was not tucked in so it slid around and got bundled up during the night. Annoying. Hotel’s valet parking is expensive so we used the Courthouse Garage...

"We come to Alexandria every month for two weeks. There are many restaurants and supermarkets in the area. Metro is just minutes away and location is right on the bus line. Love that there is a kitchen in the rooms with a full fridge. We do a lot of cooking! Hotel is just a quarter of a mile from a great dog park and our little dog loves going there. "Our stay at the Sheraton Old Town was nice. We were visiting for an overnight visit. Check in was smooth, except there was some $25 destination fee that was not mentioned when I booked. It was not a tax. Not sure what that was about. But the hotel did give us a $25 voucher for their restaurant/bar in return. The hotel was clean. "The hotel was good and so was the breakfast. Beds were comfortable and the room had a microwave and a refrigerator. Two things I didn't like were the water spigot in the bathroom (water came out like a shower/no force, and it cost $10 to park. The previous day, I spent the night at another hotel, Hampton Inn in the same city. There was no parking charge, the room cost was half of this one, and the rooms were comparable."
