Super stay with sensational food!

A one night stay on our way down to southern France had us wishing we'd booked for two nights! Excellent value room, really well appointed, but the star turn was the restaurant, which served up a series of wonderful dishes that we all savoured. Will be back!

A Gem!

We (retired Brit couple) have stayed at Val Moret many times over 20 years or so. Dinner at the restaurant is always a highlight and the most recently acquired chef has increased the already delicious standards. Rooms are clean and comfortable, all one needs for a night’s journey stopover. (I suspect few people book a week’s holiday here but a few nights would be entirely reasonable). During 2025 there are building works progressing toward enlargement of the restaurant and reception. The work isn’t at all disruptive or intrusive, particularly for rooms further away. If the end result enhances the bar area that will be a great improvement, as the existing bar facilities are about the only thing that let the place down currently. We haven’t used the spa but it looks good. Finally, credit must be given to famille Marisy (and particularly to Mme, who apparently never sleeps) who work tirelessly for the comfort of their guests. It’s really good to see a family business thriving in this ever increasingly conglomerate dominated industry.

Some rooms are of a motel type in blocks around the main building. Ours was compact but had everything needed for a comfortable overnight stay. Staff were very professional attentive and friendly. Loved having a glass of champagne on the terrace.

Excellent overnight stop.

Excellent overnight stop. Large bedroom and bathroom with separate w.c. Silent a.c. Ground floor room with direct access to car was very convenient. However our block was about 100 m from restaurant up a slope which was not easy for anyone with reduced mobility. Traffic noise audible from lowest block so had to sleep with door closed. Recommend rooms nearer restaurant facing away from motorway. Only criticism is lack of any chairs or tables outside ground floor rooms. There were a few sun loungers on lawns. We didn't try pool. The fixed price menu was limited choice but excellent. Slightly disappointed with tarte tatin which had biscuit base. Pichet of wine was only €9. Service was excellent. Didn't take breakfast. Access is easy from motorway. One minor irritation was a yappy dog staying next door who yapped non stop while they went for a swim and meals.

Lovely one night stop over ! Very friendly and helpful staff in every way. We had a premium room with balcony. Very spacious room and balcony. Car parking right out side the room. Very convenient to the motorway. Lovely well kept grounds. Will definitely return next year.
