"The property is excellent; the facilities are excellent BUT some of the staff need training in hospitality especially for an exceptional property in a historic area. I have been twice in the last 3 weeks due to work, and it was the same both times. Both times, I had multiple experiences at the front desk where staff didn't even look up from what they were doing and said, "Can I help you?" with exasperated facial expressions that appeared as if I was an annoyance or chore. "Very clean and quiet with several amenities including free breakfast and a pool with long open hours. Hit a snag at check in when our room wasn’t ready, but I believe that is not a regular occurrence and they were just unexpectedly short staffed. There was a woman named Zoe working the front desk and she was wonderful! The bar was also not well stocked. We would stay here again though! It’s definitely a wonderful option for larger families to stay in a suite rather than booking two rooms."

"I booked and prepaid for2 rooms 9 months before our trip to the Outer Banks as a stay over on the way. After traveling 8 hours we arrived at Towneplace Suites in Fredericksburg where we were told our rooms had been canceled the day before. There was a horse race going on and they sold our rooms right out from under us, most likely for a higher rate. "Room was fine for a one night stop. There is carpeting which seems old but overall the room was clean. We were traveling with two dogs so the low $15 fee was appreciated with no weight limit. Very close to restaurants and gas stations so perfect for some rest and a meal. Front desk attendant who checked me in was kind and quick. Breakfast was minimal but fine for a drink and a quick bite before getting on the road."

"Room number 12 smells bad from cigarette smoke. There was no soap in the room. The walls were paper thin. Other than that it was a cheap motel that was okay to get enough sleep to keep driving again. No better than a 5/10 idk what these other reviews are talking about."
