"I loved my stay at La Gravina. it's owner is extremely welcoming and offers us suggestions in the region. We were alone during our stay, so the experience was more personalized. There are horses and also their adorable dog Diana and their cat who just ask to be cuddled. The children loved Diana and still talk about her! The owners are great, and the breakfast is simple and delicious. The Masseria is well positioned, set back from the town without being far away. THE ONLY negative point is...

"Matera is not the easiest place to get to in first place. Due to unforeseen circumstances, we had to change plans and arrived by coach bus instead of rental car. The hotel contacted us a couple days before our check in and once they learned about our change if plans, they helpfully pointed out to us that our bus station is actually quite a bit of distance from the hotel. They then booked a taxi for us that waited at the bus station and took us straight into the restricted area inside the old...
