"We stayed for one night at The Family Tree in Derbyshire, in the Sycamore Room, and it turned out to be such a lovely little getaway. From the moment we arrived, everything felt calm and welcoming, which is exactly what we were hoping for. The Sycamore Room was spotless and really well put together. The bed was incredibly comfy, the kind you sink into straight away, and we both slept really well. It felt cosy without being cramped, and there were lots of thoughtful touches that made it feel more personal than your usual place to stay. Breakfast the next morning was a real highlight. There was a great selection to choose from, and everything was fresh, tasty, and clearly made with care. It was the perfect start to the day and honestly one of the best parts of our short stay. Even though we were only there for a night, it felt like a proper break. The atmosphere was relaxed and friendly, and it was easy to switch off and enjoy the surroundings. We left wishing we had booked a bit longer, and we would happily come back again in the future."

"The room was clean evening meal was very good the breakfast could do with improvement maybe a coffee machine not filter coffee which was not very warm but the staff are very polite and very helpful "

"Dog friendly and in good location. Very handy for one night stopover and would use again. Room could do with a bit of deep cleaning/ maintenence in some places, particularly mould around bathroom window frame. "

"Interior decor of communal spaces was lovely. Only outside seating area small gravelled section on edge of carpark. Room 4 not spacious but adequately furnished. Bed was comfortable. Luxury large shower compartment and multi-jet shower unit. Grime and discolouration around shower frame, plug and back of toilet seat. Secondary glazing on window blocked road noise well but excessive grime around frame. Hostess was friendly and consistently cheerful and appeared to be responsible for reception, bar, breakfast and housekeeping single- handed."

"Breakfast was very good but more choices would have been nice. Egs. Cerials Room was spotless and bed was very comfortable Staff very friendly and helpful Locating property was hard. A bigger sign on main gate would be helpful "

"Room was clean but dated and could do with a refresh. Evening meal was excellent, I had the steak & Malbec pie and it is one of the best pies I have ever eaten. Breakfast was a bit hit and miss, there were two of us and one wanted black pudding and one didn’t but neither got any, nor did we get the fried bread, there were only two juices available, orange and apple (I think) but the orange juice ran out and not replenished although there were staff around. You could have tea or coffee by request but only one latte or cappuccino, there were no cereals, fruit or danish etc which you would expect from a hotel chain such as this (Marstons). However the staff, especially at dinner, were absolutely fantastic, always on hand to help and not too overbearing with the usual ‘is your meal ok’ type scenario. They are a credit to the company. The reason for the 3 stars is the room needing updating and the breakfast."
