First, when you get to the place you get a huge hill which isnt really easy to get up, they would send someone to help you getting your car up. The place is really nice and quiet. A lot of mosquitoes since its basically a mountain, there is a -jungle- next to the area. Moving around isnt that easy but the staff is willing to help. Had a really long waiting time for the Caribbean Restaurante they work with deliver the food (took around 1 hour and 20 minutes to get a octopus fillet and a pizza) which was not so pleasing. The bad part is that we are in a mountain and they are going to be bugs around cearly, we got a cockroach in our room, we asked for some spray to kill it, but the guy never showed up with it, my husband dont like them at all, so we didnt get a good sleep at night.
Los administradores no sabian que teniamos una reserva por no fijarse, tambien la habitación estaba sucia y tenia cucarachas...
La vista linda pero no lo recimiendo. No vale la pena.
The hammocks are comfy, the view is serene and the hosts are lovely. There’s no hot water in the little cabins, but we to tolerated this because everything else was so peaceful and inexpensive.

Best view in Panama, extremely friendly hosts.
Very good price - value stay, this place has one of the best views and the hosts are extremely friendly. The only thing to take into account is their is no hot water (at least in the cabin I stayed). Nonetheless all the rest is great value for your money, and for that reason this is the 5th tiem I stay here.

The cabin smells bad. Facilities are old and poor
Nice view. Kind persons, but the rooms are worse than expected. Broken Windows sills. Insects enter: ants, spiders and mosquitoes. Smell badly. Stuffiness. The AV and TV works. Breakfast is delicious.

Adequate place to stay near Portobelo
The best of very few choices in the Portobelo area. It is up a steep driveway on a cliff overlooking the Caribbean. Very few staff who were always helpful. Roof leaked copiously in heavy rain but not a huge problem due to tile floors. We just swept the water out. Power outages once in a while. You must have business in Portobelo if you are going there. We did and this was the best we could find.
We stayed 3 nights. The hotel is just outside Portobelo up a very very steep bank. The views and the farm behind are quite beautiful. Cabins are clean and equipped with air con, tv and hammocks outside. There was no hot water or wifi during our stay. The owners are very pleasant and helpful and obviously gradually upgrading their facilities; the kitchenette needed attention. We breakfasted at the little Panaderia on the way into Portobelo ate dinner at Captain Jack's (both very good) so we can't comment on the hotel breakfast, which is on request. Their is plenty to do in the area, particularly if you hire the local nature guide, Jason. Just remember this is not really a hotel with hotel facilities and you will enjoy the different experience.
If you like over looking the ocean this is for you
You must get to the top of the driveway and this alone can be an experience by it self. I myself thought the driveway was a thrill. The place was clean, they provide hammocks, refrigerator, dishes, cable (I changed the tv language to English to watch CSI). It is quiet and in the middle of no where. Bring our own dish soap. I loved it and I will be returning.

This is a great eco tourism escape. It's simple and mellow with great views of the Caribbean. The morning breakfasts were outstanding. If you need the Hilton amenities, this is not your place.
Expedia said specifically that there is no need to confirm the reservation on the receipt, however when we get there they were like we sold your room because we did not reply to an email that was sent few days ago. We were out of country for a week already as a result did not see an email come in. Why would they put on receipt that there is no need to confirm the reservation then?
They told us to go to different place down the street (4 km away) claimed to be same company. However the owner at different hotel said it is not a same company and we had to pay more fees for the crappier room.
They never seemed apologetic about this whole incident.
I would say STAY AWAY from this
Very nice couple that give us good information about any travelling tips
