Free breakfast and free parking can get much better than that. The staff is super friendly and very helpful. The property was very well maintained. 10/10 experience I would stay there again.

Los cuartos muy limpios y de buen tamaño, hotel muy bien ubicado fuera del área turística central aún así a 15 caminando y en carro a 5 minutos. El staff de primera, la recepción fue muy cálida y fácil. Gracias Sofía por toda tu ayuda. El desayuno muy bueno. Con varias opciones. Gracias Gabriela, Morena y a todos los demás por sus finas atenciones. El gimnasio está en muy buenas condiciones y el hotel tiene muy buen parqueo. Definitivamente volveríamos y lo recomendamos.

Just a good overall value stay, it's quite a far walk to the waterfront and town, not too bad walking downhill but walking uphill all the way back in teh summer months isn't ideal if you're wearing dinner wear. Decent views, rooms are dated and smallish, breakfast and staff are great though, there is a pool which is great and the onsite parking is a bonus as well. I'd stay again but if you want a true Lake Como experience you will want to splurge and get a waterfront property

Our room - in the annex - was lovely and squeaky clean...and OMG THE VIEW! We enjoyed the pool and breakfast was delicious. If we return to Menaggio, we will stay at the Hotel Royal.

The property was very well maintained and in a beautiful location. Sophia at the front desk was a delight, she was so sweet and helpful. Unfortunately breakfast was not great, the eggs were undercooked and slimy and the bacon was barely cooked. This is a very nice place overall but it is a long steep walk to town. There is a bus that brings you up pretty far with a shortcut to the hotel but make sure you get the correct bus. Once we got on the wrong bus and ended up stranded in the middle of nowhere. Thanks to the kindness of strangers we made it back to our hotel!

Hotellet låg vackert med utsikt över Comosjön men lite för långt från centrum Menaggio för att gå ner dit. Rummet var rent och tyst med en liten uteplats. Bilen stod säkert i ett garage. Frukosten var ok

The hotel was adorable and impeccably clean. The property and location was so charming! Fun to walk around and find out fun things about the town. If you have luggage.. coordinate with the hotel a ride to and from the Ferry!

A wonderful lovely place to stay!! Clean room, property, dining area, pool. Everything about Royal Hotel was amazing. Staff were lovely and helpful and the meals were delicious and interesting and the setting inside and outside for dinner and breakfast were wonderful!! Thank you thank you so much!! We recommend and would go back again.

Gorgeous property with an amazing view, a pool, clean, with very friendly staff. They offer breakfast which was basic but enough choices and delicious. A bit far from the promenade about 20 min walk going down and 25 min going uphill. Beautiful walk, though! If you are OK with a nice walk this is the place for you. If you have a car they offer free parking. There are few taxis available in case you need a ride. Very peaceful place

Very basic clean accommodations. Incredibly hard mattress and pillows. Front desk was not very helpful. The breakfast service is chaotic and they don’t replenish food so need to be there as soon as they open if you want food. Restaurant was closed two nights for “unexpected technical issues” which was frustrating bc the walk to town for dinner is very steep for 30 min. Room is very clean though.

The hotel was wonderful and Sofia Maria, at the front desk was amazing. She did everything possible to make our stay lovely and comfortable. As far as the location is concerned, we were very surprised to find that it is located up a very steep hill about a mile from town and the taxi service is almost non-existent. We found it almost impossible to get to the hotel once you get off of the ferry. The hotel has no transportation. If you do find a ride they charge you 35 Euros. We had to go to one of the waterfront hotels and convince a staff person to take us up Of course, they charged us the 35 euros to help us. That said, each time you want to go into town or visit the other amazing towns of Lake Como by ferry, it will cost you 70 euros round trip . It is possible to walk down, which they told us was a 10 minute walk but it took us 45 minutes. We highly recommend the hotel, but only if you have a car. The restaurant for breakfast was wonderful and dinner was delicious, sitting outdoors with an amazing view and wonderful service. We loved the hotel and would stay again if we had a car.

Overall, we enjoyed many aspects of our stay. The views are breathtaking, the grounds and pool are beautiful, the breakfast buffet and restaurant were excellent, and the air conditioning was a huge relief during the heatwave. While the property isn't modern, it has a lot of charm. Our biggest challenge was transportation. Although the hotel is described as being within walking distance of Menaggio, that's only realistic with very light luggage. Taxis were difficult to find during our stay, and Ubers were expensive. We mostly relied on buses—the C110 was reliable, but the C113 was not. On two occasions the driver missed our stop, and my husband and I ended up on an unexpected 45-minute ride up the mountain before we could get off. Our room matched the description, but there was a persistent unpleasant odor. Housekeeping appeared to spray air freshener each day, but it only masked the smell briefly. Finally, we visited during the third heatwave of the summer. The hotel initially offered complimentary cold bottled water in a guest-accessible refrigerator, but midway through our stay access was restricted and water was only available for €2 per bottle. While cheaper water was available in town, the uphill walk back and lack of a refrigerator in the room made staying hydrated much more difficult. The hotel has many wonderful qualities, but given the extreme heat, we felt the staff could have been more accommodating.

PLEASE READ BEFORE BOOKING THIS PROPERTY Unfortunately, I would not recommend this hotel. It was the most disappointing hotel I stayed at during my trip to Italy. 1. Outdated facilities — No fridge, no electric kettle, no elevator, weak water pressure, and extremely small shower space. Instead of key cards, guests are given a physical key. 2. Bug issues — There were many bugs around the property, and I even found dead bugs in the bathroom floor. 3. Poor accessibility and transportation — Without a car, getting to and from the hotel was very difficult. Taxis were supposedly available with advance booking, but they were always fully booked. The route to the hotel includes steep hills/stone stairs. When we asked for help booking a taxi, the staff told us to walk and handed us phone numbers to call ourselves. 4. There was usually only one receptionist, so assistance was slow and the hotel rarely answered the calls. 5. Disappointing breakfast and restaurant — Breakfast was overpriced for the limited selection. Compared to other hotels in Italy, there were very few fruit and vegetable options. The restaurant food was also very salty and expensive for the quality. 6. Underwhelming pool — The pool was just a basic rectangular pool, not heated, and you cannot really enjoy the view while inside it. Overall, the experience did not match the price or expectations shown in the listing.

Our room had the Best view on Lago di Como. Our breakfast was fresh and delicious. Our hostesses were a delight and the nicest people. The room was topnotch. It's location was a trade off with how much we loved everything else about the experience. Overall, I recommend this Hotel for anyone that wants a Royal stay. Only thing is you will need a taxi to get here from the lake as it's on a hill ( duh) and walking from down below is a Workout...!

Det var fest i restaurangen, men jätte hög musik. Kändes som om vi var på nattklubb när vi försökte sova. Det blev tyst först kl 01. Vi sa till i receptionen dagen efter för kompensation Men de sa bara att vi kan inte göra något. Vi hade bokat för semester och boende men svårt att vara nöjd då detta oljud var på natten. Rekommenderar ej!

En av bästa hotel. Mycket fint läge med mycket sol.Helt underbar mat på hotellets restaurang.Mycket bra service med familjär känsla.Bra parkering. Stor trädgård med pool på solsidan.Toppen ställe.

Un séjour superbe sur le lac de Côme

Un hôtel très bien situé à l'écart des artères passagères d’où un calme propice à la détente pour apprécier ce merveilleux lac de Côme. L’hôtel est à 5 minutes en voiture de l'embarcadère.
