10/10 Excellent

"The building is a bit older, but they keep it well maintained. There was a newer tub and shower in the room. The room looked to have been recently painted. The only problem was you had to be sure to push the door shut hard to get it to shut completely. The pool is small but warm. The pool area was clean, and they had plants growing in windows. Would stay here again."

"The staff were outstanding. Manager Tyshia was professional, kind, courteous, respectful, always had a smile on her face. Also Alania had a beautiful spirit so helpful. Exactly all staff including the housekeepers were the best. We would absolutely stay here at Fairfield again. Thank you Fairfield!"

"This was only an overnight as part of a longer roadtrip; however, as we will be traveling through the area a couple of times a year; this has become our go to mid-point stopping location. The staff and hotel were incredibly comfortable and the Ottawa area was quite lovely. It would have been great to have more time to visit the shops in the downtown area and take a little hike at the Starved Rock area."

"It appears the rooms and much of the hotel has been renovated. I don’t think they are quite done. But it has the modern Comfort Inn decor. We were disappointed that after checking in, they told us they had no breakfast (and they offered no discount). I then saw a sign hanging low at reception that indicated that they could not serve food because they don’t have the appropriate license. If that’s the case, then don’t advertise it as having breakfast and discount until the license is reinstated. Also, our original room had not been cleaned. They immediately got us another one and the desk clerk walked up to make sure it was clean. That told me that they may have staffing issues if she wanted to make sure it didn’t happen again. The second room was clean and comfortable. The desk staff was pleaaant."
