"This was ideal for me. I loved it here. It was really peaceful. I couldn't hear a thing apart from the birds and the occasional sheep. I stayed for 4 days and I wished it could have been longer. There is no TV in the hut which also suits me to the ground. The wi-fi is excellent so if you do want to watch something on an I pad or tablet you will have no problem with the reception. From the moment we arrived, to the moment we left, we had nothing but friendly attentive service from the staff at the pub. We were fortunate to be upgraded from a room in the pub to one of the relatively new lodges. The lodge was immaculate on arrival and very comfortable and well equipped. We had breakfast included and this was first class with locally sourced food included. We had two evening dinners at the pub and both were excellent from the very varied menu on offer.

This is real gem, hidden away in the Devon countryside, at the end of long private driveway - with rather too many deep potholes, a danger to your car's tyres and suspension. Thoroughly recommend. Lovely rural part of Devon, the hotel is set in its own well maintained grounds, which is excellent for dog walking, our room was clean and comfortable, as was the breakfast and dining area which were both well set out, with plenty of space to accommodate dogs. Food was great, varied and plentiful. All staff were polite, efficient, and attentive, which helped to create a pleasant and chilled atmosphere.

Manageress went out of her way to make us welcome. Room was a fair size, clean with ample storage, small fridge and a good size ensuite with bath and separate shower. Only noise you can hear is the river flowing nearby and the birds at first light. Varied menu and expect good quality and service. Cosy and warm bar. Small hotel with ample parking close by. Highly recommended and will visit again.

A two night stay to attend niece's wedding, excellent location with a plentiful public car park opposite. Our room was clean and tidy, well appointed with quality fixtures and fittings. A very nice friendly welcome on arrival and throughout our stay. Quality of breakfast was first class and very tasty with a good range to suit all tastes. Would stay again and would highly recommend if you are looking to stay in the area. Village had good amenities.
