I enjoyed my time. Mia was kind, helpful and welcoming. Her knowledge was key! Coming from out of state there were missed and helpful opportunities. The website lacks much to be desired. If I found that first, I wouldn’t have booked it in the first place. It shows golf courses but no dates, rates, booking online etc.
I didn’t find a list for what’s around the hotel. Sharing local shops, grocery stores, restaurants, etc. Another piece worth mentioning is water! In a state where hydration is key, letting your guests know immediately you provide 2 bottles of water and that’s it! Tell them how & where to buy water. The cleaning staff doesn’t know how to work the vending machines. One of the many items that they don’t share up front is the esthetic matching the reality. I found an article about the owners & what they wanted the hotel to portray (Previously The Don Shula Hotel and Golf) it hasn’t really shifted. The article claims they wanted to have a new view on the modern traveler (families). But I saw was the bar and steakhouse. Food is delicious! All artwork is still Shula and with the hotel empty, I think the families that take over the small pool are from the apartments nearby.
