"The apartment we were originally given had a staircase we didn’t want to climb, as we are both in our eighties. Staff quickly arranged another one for us without any bother. Although a bit noisy, as on the street side, we loved the apartment. It is next door to the gym, but no one used it while we were there. Suppose it might be noisy during the week. Location was perfect. We walked everywhere. 13 minutes to a wonderful restaurant for dinner (Jana), with a lovely walk back along the river. 160 metres to a great cafe for breakfast (Autumn Rooms). There are so many great places to eat very close by. Nice friendly staff. "

"Our stay in The Grand was good, but we stayed in the apartment which was awful. right at the top of the hotel, no lift so loads of stairs to carry our luggage up. the bathroom was really old-fashioned and needed ripping out. I believe the other rooms in the hotel have been refurbished."

"Room was okay, hotel is definitely dated. Only "lux" thing about it is the location/beach views. Bathroom is poorly designed, towels dingy, very little water pressure in shower, almost no amenities, very limited room service, tight covered parking, parking level foyer reeked of urine. Did not use laundry service - found a laundromat close by instead. "

"Over a weekend with many "older" delegates at a Conference nearby, only one lift worked - repair people were on site on Friday, but not Saturday or Sunday. The delays were ridiculous and the staff attempted to explain the situation on basis that lift "could not" be fixed: I bet you it was fixed soon after when the rates were lower."

"When we first arrived in our room, we couldn't even open the sliding door to see the pool area (glimpses of it) and the flyscreen was ripped. I went downstairs to Reception and let them know about the damaged doors. The lady was polite and put us into another room. However, the glass door was again in need of repair. We couldn't be bothered going back to reception. The spa was out of action as it was getting repaired. We were looking forward to using that amenity. Lastly, we couldn't get to sleep on the Saturday night due to all of the noise by a group of young adults screaming and carrying on. As we had to leave by 4am the next day for a long travel home, we really were struggling to find anything good with our stay. We had stayed there a few times before but this is the last time we are going back. "
