"This quaint family-owned motel reminded me of the motels we stayed in in Florida pre- Disneyworld. The owner gave us the room that had been his father’s favorite because it felt like being in a bird’s nest, so we had an incredible view of the Kachemak Bay and Mountains.
The room was clean, the bed comfy, the hot water and water pressure abundant, and the amenities included a fridge, microwave, coffeepot and coffee – everything I need in a room.
The only downside was that of the 9 places we have stayed in during our Alaska vacation, this was the only one that didn’t have blackout curtains. Instead, it had plastic mini-blinds like those popular in the 80s. So with 3 windows and a patio door in the land of the midnight sun, sleeping was a challenge, even with eye masks."
