Check in is difficult. We were lucky we saw a man walking to his room and he told us where to go. No instructions from the hotel! We called and the lady read from the paper but didn’t know more because “she has never been there and just reading instructions “

Hi Myriam, I'm sorry you had such a hard time figuring out how to check-in. Our answering service is a third party, and they should have forwarded you to the employee on call. We are available 24/7/365. I will be sure to call and address that with them. We will also be contacting the service you booked with to see why you did not receive check-in instructions. As you can see from our other reviews, this is rarely a problem, so maybe the answering service had a new hire working. Other than that, we hope you had a great stay!

The hotel was clean. Needs some updating. Light continental breakfast was terrible. We stay here several times a year and the offerings at breakfast have declined. Everything is prepackaged.

Hi John! Thank you for your review of The Lodge. Most of our breakfast hasn't changed in years, it's always been prepackaged cereal, danishes, and muffins, etc. We did recently add waffles and other fruit options, much to the delight of our regular guests. We understand you had a problem with hotels.com and we hope you were able to have that resolved. The manager was able to talk hotel.com into refunding most of the cost of the second room you accidently booked- we didn't hear back from you regarding this matter so we're assuming you noticed the refund. We appreciate the comment on how clean your room was! It's something we take pride in! We hope you have a wonderful day!

The view from the registration/breakfast room was breathtakingly beautiful. The foliage was in full bloom. Very relaxing. Only thing was noisy heater but would stay again.

It is in a beautiful setting. Very quiet and clean. The beds were comfortable. The rooms are cute with a real fridge and freezer (small but real). The breakfast choices were limited. It is a great deal for the price.

Hi Donna! Thank you so much for your review of The Lodge! We also love how quiet and peaceful it is up here. We apologize about the restaurant. We were not aware of the need for reservations due to Swing being run completely separate from The Lodge. It may have just been because they were busier than normal on Friday. Our breakfast is comprised of about 25 different grab-and-go items, but maybe we'll take a look to see what we can add to make it more diverse. There is a great place in town that serves a full breakfast. Next time you come in, we can tell you where it is! Please let your husband know that I passed on his business card. He is a very talented artist! We hope you have a great day and look forward to having you here again!

Stopped here for one night on our way to NY. The place is cute and the rooms were clean, but I never saw any staff. We arrived at 8:30 pm. 1. Google had the location incorrect, so that was frustrating after a long day of driving. (Where it says it is... pass it and go to the next road on the right to the entrance. It didn't give me a new pin to update it 🙄) 2. There was no information given on how to check in, other than that they have a "self-check in process." There was no clear entrance. Just tennis courts and 2 buildings. Thankfully, there were guests outside that advised me that they were closed 😳 and to go into the "door at the end of the building to get our envelope. " 3. There was zero staff there when we arrived - which would have been great to know before we arrived! Got our key and headed to our assigned room. 4. The room was clean and had what we needed for 1 night. The area rug in our room had curled up on the end, so we tripped over it quite often! The towels were thin and small. I wanted to notify someone about the rug when we checked-out, but again, nobody was at registration at 9:30 am when we left. If you've ever traveled to this area of PA... there isn't a lot of good options for places to stay if you don't want a Super 8, Motel 6, etc... so this was a the best option. Just wish I had more information going in and could tell someone about my rug issue. There is a suggestion box at registration - but no paper or card to leave it on and no pen to do so.

We are available 24/7 by phone and there is always someone on property between the hours of 8am-5pm. We are a little unconventional here because we are such a small property, so I understand the confusion. Unfortunately, booking through third party sites makes the experience a little less personal. Overall its a nice and place which is located in an isolated area. Our checkin was little difficult. Its a self checkin process. We reached there around 10:30 PM and we couldn't find the reception in that dark. Luckily there was guest came outside at that time and he quided us to the reception which is located at the backside of the building. Apart from this room and bathroom was clean, sufficient breakfast, daily clean staff did a good job and no disturbance.

Lovely small motel, spotless and well cared for. Easy check in and out - never actually saw a person. Only comment for improvement is I had the hot water for the shower was only just warm when turned all the way on.

The room was very cute, and stunningly clean. The flowers in the vase on the table were a very nice touch. Customer service was excellent—the ladies who run this hotel are incredibly nice and friendly. The breakfast available in the lobby in the morning was impressive.
