Everything! The hotel is set back from the main hustle and bustle of Mirissa beach road which was ideal. Tuk tuks provided daily to a central location to access all the restaurants and the main beach. The manager when we arrived explained everything to us in such detail including recommendations and all the excursions we could do. Laundry service was an added touch & the rooms were huge, beautifully decadent, spacious with all the amenities you could need, a lovely family style buffet breakfast is provided for a very small charge. The whole team were lovely and helpful, answering any questions- would return in a heartbeat, also a great pool area to relax if the beach is too hectic

Fantastic stay! The staff were incredibly helpful and welcoming. The breakfast was excellent, and my room was already cool and comfortable when I arrived. Even though I arrived later than expected, it was no problem at all, the team was very accommodating and kind. I had a wonderful experience and would definitely stay here again!

Our 7 days at DCanal were lovely, it’s very peaceful, tucked away in the back streets. The free tuk tuk service to the town was very helpful. The pool, the staff, and the beaches nearby were a wonderful place to unplug.

Das Hotel ist wirklich toll gelegen, mitten in der Natur und alles ist sehr liebevoll gestaltet. Wir hatten ein tolles Bungalow, sehr geräumig und äußerst sauber. Das Bad war besonders toll eingerichtet, ein richtiges Highlight. Der Pool Nähe der Rezeption läd zum verweilen ein, es gibt kostenlose Getränke und man kann sogar den kostenlosen Tuk Tuk Service in Anspruch nehmen. Lahiru war sehr nett und hat uns gute Tipps gegeben, es hat viel Spaß gemacht! :) Nachts sollte man nur wissen das die Vögel recht laut sind da man mitten in der Natur ist.

Absolutely stunning boutique hotel, we stayed in hibiscus room and the sunrise room both were exceptional. The staff the location and the pool were perfect and the breakfast was very good. They lay on a free Tuk Tuk to get you to from hotel to beach takes less than 5 mins but is easily walkable. We visited slightly out of season so Mirissa was quiet and not every restaurant and bar was open but D Canal was still fully booked so advice is book early as this hotel is a real gem in every way. We stayed here for our 25th wedding anniversary and could not have chosen a better hotel

My partner and I travelled from Australia with our 4 month old boy for our first family holiday. We can say that this accommodation was some of the best that we have experienced. The property itself is wonderful and really does feel like you are staying in someone’s home in all the right ways. It is away from all the main roads, is set well back off any street and is surrounded by lush gardens and a waterway. The only sounds you will hear are those of the wildlife and the rain falling on the roof. It is truly a very relaxed and lends itself to truly unwinding. The room was comfortable and the breakfast was good. The one thing that may put off some travellers is that it is about a 10min walk to the main restaurant areas however the hotel has offset this by providing a free shuttle service all day until 7pm. If you are staying longer than that out and about, it is around 300-400 LKR to get your own way home on a 5min Tuk Tuk trip. What truly sets this place apart is the staff. Milan and his colleagues would do absolutely anything and everything to make you stay as good as it can possibly be. I joked with my wife that I felt they would give me the shirt off their back or one of their kidneys if we needed it, such was their want and desire to do anything they could. If you are staying in Mirissa and if you want supremely good service in boutique accommodation, away from the hustle and bustle then don’t hesitate to book this place. Thankyou Milan and Team.

Ein kleines schönes Hotel mit wenigen Zimmern/Appartements und toller Lage. Nicht umsonst gibt es in letzter Zeit fast nur positive Kritiken und ich finde, das ist auch richtig so. Das Hotel hat einen sehr schön gestalteten Garten und auch die Zimmer sind stilvoll eingerichtet. Das Personal hilft Ihnen bei allem, von möglichen Programmen über gute Restaurants bis hin zu Reisen. Auserdem gibt es einen kostenlosen Tuk Tuk Service bis zur MainStreet. Wir hatten geplant, zwei Nächte zu bleiben, blieben aber letztendlich drei. Wir hatten hier die beste Zeit auf Sri Lanka. Als einziger negativer Punkt kann erwähnt werden, dass die Beleuchtung in den Zimmern leider schwach ist.

We had a good time at DCanal. The property is nicely decorated, is very clean and has a lovely pool and garden. To say the staff were great would be an understatement. They were very friendly and always checking if we needed anything. The buffet breakfast was lovely and freshly prepared every morning. My only critique of this property is it is a 15min walk to the town & beach but they do provide a free tuk tuk service from 10am to 7 pm. The beach bar pictures shown here are not on this property. Aside from breakfast there is no meals available at the property or around the property so you need to go to the town. There are only three rooms and three bungalows on the property so it is very relaxing and peaceful compared to the busy town centre. The property was surrounded by beautiful lush trees where you can watch lots monkeys and birds. Also a canal that runs along the property has water lizards, fish and birds you can watch as you enjoy breakfast.

D Canal was the highlight of our hotel stays in Sri Lanka. The decoration at the hotel was beautiful and unique. The chef made his own Mango, papaya and lime jam which was to die for. It was definitely the tastiest breakfast we had during our trip. The pool was very relaxing and the staff couldn’t do enough to make your stay enjoyable. There is a free tuk, tuk to and from the property from 10am to 7pm which was very generous. I wish we had stayed longer and will definitely be returning.

This was one of our best stays in Sri Lanka. Not only the property was immaculate, but also secluded meaning it was peaceful and private. The books we had was very nice and incredible value for money! Service was well beyond expectations. We were really blown away by the friendliness everyone showed us. I would go back in an eyeblink! Thank you so much to everyone. Ps. The homemade mango marmalade is delicious!

Everything about this little boutique hotel was perfect. Only a small number of rooms, but with plenty of friendly staff for everything you need. Quiet & serene, a home away from home - but only 5 mins a (free) tuktuk to get to the town & beach.

Beautiful property, very well decorated and surrounded by nature. It is a little far from main road in Mirissa but honestly that was a plus, they offer a free tuk tuk to/from main road and I much prefer the quietness and secluded area where the DCanal is located. Very good breakfast, super friendly staff and a very authentic experience. Loved everything about it!

Beautiful haven surrounded by wildlife

Really beautiful haven in Mirissa, sitting right on the river and with a lovely pool. Sitting on the balcony, we saw monkeys, lizards, bats and a woodpecker. The furniture was all beautiful and they'd thought of everything, it was very comfortable and the AC was very powerful. The manager couldn't do enough to help, giving fantastic food recommendations, arranging free tuk tuks to get to town and welcoming us to use the pool after we'd checked out

Super liebes Personal und tolles Frühstück (die Pancakes waren der Wahnsinn). Das Hotel liegt etwas abgelegen, aber der Tuk Tuk Service hat super geklappt und wurde von uns auch immer in Anspruch genommen. Die Anlage ist sehr schön und grün gestaltet. Mit den Tiergeräuschen abends fühlt man sich wie im Dschungel, mal eine ganz neue Erfahrung!

Great place

The staff is Super nice, very helpful and quick to respond (usually could contact them over WhatsApp and got answers within minutes). The tuktuk service to the main road is a very nice thing to have, tho' we usually walked, wich wasn't that bad either. The rooms were big and nice, the pool area was also very nice. Would stay again if I were in Mirissa.

Et uforglemmelig ophold med service i verdensklasse. En følelse af at være blandt venner fra ankomst til afgang. Helt sikkert et sted vi vil besøge igen. De varmeste anbefalinger. Personalet gjorde sig umage på den mest naturlige måde.
