"At check-in the 50% deposit paid through Expedia was not recognised and we had to prove payment to avoid a double charge. This is not a hotel. There is no full-time reception or usual hotel amenities. Neither is it a B&B, as there is no breakfast at the property. A voucher for $7 was provided for a cafe needing a 2 mile round trip; the amount just about covered a muffin and a small coffee. It feels more like managed rooms. "I LOVED the Salem Inn. The staff were incredibly friendly and accommodating. The breakfast was such an amazing addition and the staff were friendly and helpful. The witches brew coffee was a fun way to start a day in Salem. I stayed in the Curwen House and it had a sherry nightcap available every evening - which was such a cute and fun touch. The location is perfect because it is right downtown, without being on top of the action - so you can walk 5 minutes but still have your quiet room at...

"Very nice comfy spot, only issue I had was the cord for the little desk fan didn’t work. Great spot other than that. Little pricey but it was Memorial Day weekend. Quiet and there were no interactions with any staff due to it all being through phone it was contactless"

"The room was great- exactly as described. The gentleman owner was kind - lived on the premises and spent a lot of our stay mowing the lawn and working in the gardens. Would be a bit uncomfortable for femme people traveling alone, but a good set up for people looking for conversation or company. "

"I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at Castle Manor Inn. Our room was large, bright and airy, with a beautiful view. As you might expect when staying in a castle, the rooms were about bit quirky, with some unusual angles, but I found it endearing. My room was recently renovated with a modern bathroom that was beautiful and clean. Five stars! The only shortcoming I found was the lack of a hair dryer."
