But part way through the night the smell was so terrible we were awake. In the morning we realised it must have been mildew and mold. Some of the glass window pains had black mould, not only around the edges but in the middle of the glass. We left pretty early because we couldn't be in the room anymore. "The room was clean enough. However, the carpet was very stained, it either needed a good clean or replacing. The curtains matched but were different lengths. As there is no air conditioning the room would have been unbearable without the fan that was provided. We were in room 307 which included climbing 3 flights of stairs. The carpets on the stairs need some maintenance as they are worn through. The hotel must have once been very grand. It is very clean and tidy with very helpful staff....
