David is a delightful host! Come here for an authentic and relaxing stay in Jamaica. We loved the room, it was plenty of space for 1 adult and 2 teens. We enjoyed the gorgeous sunset from the balcony, relaxing by the pool, and the easy access to some isolated and heavenly beaches.

It was like a secluded plantation Mansion on a quiet dirt road. Words can’t describe the beautiful house, they offered food and transportation, the caretaker was the nicest grandmother, kindly and helpful. And the staff drove me to the lagoon and to my next stay (average taxi price, but 24 hour convenience). I will stay here again when I bring my family, it was luxury at a motel 6 prices. She even squeezed me fresh papaya juice, and cooked a delicious breakfast

No air conditioner was included assuming that every property in Caribe had to have AC. Good for you Expedia!!!!! So, they charge me 40 dollars per day aditional to the rate I already arranged to pay. David and the lady at the property were nice and very kind.

Complete nightmare. Checked out before staying a night. Property description is completely misleading. Air conditioning is not available in any room with a view, the rooms with a view do not have functional showers, staff is rude and always in your room. Avoid this place.

Retreat Guesthouse Luxury suites home is absolutely beautiful an very relaxing!! The house was super clean, neat, and organized! Many balconys you can go out on a feel the sun and look at the beautiful views!!! The hosts was extremely friendly an helpful!! I highly recommend for anyone looking for a beautiful guest house while they stay in Jamaica !!!

Retreat Guesthouse stay

This guesthouse was a nice quiet get-away from the noise, traffic, loud music etc. of bigger cities. Joyce, the owner & her son David were very hospitable and the food was amazingly delicious! I would recommend this guesthouse to others looking for peace & quiet with a beautiful view. Would rebook, no problem!

HORRIBLE!!!!! DO NOT STAY HERE. Never stayed at this Guesthouse, when called to let them know I am on my own, I was told my reservation was cancelled. I was left stuck in an area that I was not familiar with and had to book with another hotel for the night. When I contacted Expedia, they were not helpful in refunding me. I DO NOT plan on using Expedia in the future.

This was easily one the WORST hotel stays I have ever had in my life! Upon arrival, the property owner acted as if we weren't expected to arrive that day. Then I discovered that the toilet in our bathroom was absolutely filthy - I travel with Clorox wipes so I cleaned it myself. The house is a large house with decent rooms but it's in the middle of nowhere. We asked about getting a taxi to the beach & the owner arranged for her handyman to take us in their old van. I was fine with this but we agreed upon a time for pickup but in the middle of enjoying our beach time, we were informed that we would have to take a taxi back to the hotel. Although I'd asked for a taxi # one was never provided and as we had arranged for pickup, I didn't bring my phone with me to even be able to call said taxi. This should have given me an indication of the rest to come. We could not access even something as basic as hot water unless the owner or her son were around. We soon discoverd how to just boil water ourselves in the kitchen if it was early. Without my permission, someone entered our room and rearranged our things but DID NOT CLEAN a thing. No fresh towels, no nothing. Owner told me I needed to tell HER if I didn't want anyone in my room. Then she proceeded to YELL at me when I simply inquired @ who would be in the room next door to mine b/c we shared a balcony with that room. Turns out it was my father but she didn't know that even one day before his arrival! Stay somewhere else!!!!

Get what you pay for

The Retreat is like and AB&B. Not too posh but comfortable with basic amenties. The room had Wifi and cable the room was clean but could be dusted for cobwebs. My only issue was the manager could be better dressed. But great location overlooking the beach. Super quiet and cozy. I would stay here again

9 women on a mission trip were in for a surprise

The Retreat Guest house was a wonderful surprise with spacious rooms, views of the sea and mountains, sounds of the birds in the morning, great hospitality, Jamaican cuisine prepared by an experienced chef, as well as great decor with lots of artwork: altogether a delightful place and a stay that was too short. Thank you Mrs. Grant and Keno!

Very humble

The people there are very nice and friendly. The accommodation place located in a beautiful view. The problem is full of bugs and insects. there is no air conditioning. At night there is a noise of the dogs and other creatures in the area

This hotel STOLE my money!!!

I am very very very very angry and disappointed with this hotel and it's management and probably even worse feel totally let down by Expedia who I have various accounts with and an agency I use to book most of my travel and accommodation to destinations all over the World. Jamaica can be quite a volatile place and the crime rate inboxed certain areas, especially in Montego Bay, which is the area this particular so called "retreat/hotel" is located in has probably the highest murder statistics in the entire Island of Jamaica. Online the pictures shown of the accommodation was very enticing and sadly having not been able to see either the physical building or physical location when booking online I went by the pics displayed online and forked out in excess of £900.00 for a week's stay at this mis-sold advertised property only to find when we got there the property was not fit for our purpose, the roads were inadequate, street lights non-existent and the distance from mainroad concsiderable and therefore not safe for us to travel to and fro especially after dusk inn the evenings. Who goes on a vacation to just be stuck in a house? Therefore WE DID NOT FEEL SAFE staying there and called Expedia immediately on arrival to state this, since that time we have NOT had a satisfactory solution nor our money back and had too find money we did not budget for to stay elsewhere, thus curtailing monies we had budgeted for going out, etc. NOT HAPPY!!!!!
