"The staff were all extremely helpful and pleasant. I enjoyed my stay in a room with a great view on the second (top) floor. There's ample parking and the views from some of the rooms, my in particular, are great! My balcony overlooked the golf course (the local Pacific Grove muni) and also gave me a glimpse of the ocean. And, it's just a short walk or drive to the beach. There's a complimentary continental breakfast which can be upgraded to breakfast buffet for just $15. All in all, a very nice establishment that I will consider first, next time I'm in the area.
I held back one star for three things that are important to me. There was a thermostat in the room but apparently there's no A/C. Not that that would matter for most folks but I found the room a bit stuffy, even with the patio door open. The second issue was that there was a used q-tip on the floor in the bath area which was just sort of off putting. Lastly, I was dumb enough to leave some things in two drawers when I checked out. Housekeeping put the contents of one drawer aside for me but the contents of the other drawer were just not accounted for. It was my mistake so I can't fault them for not keeping track of my stuff. But it was weird they found everything from one drawer but nothing from the other."
