Amazing! Felt like home

Freddy’s place was absolutely perfect for our stay in Monteverde! Freddy is so helpful and friendly and his place is just a short walk to the downtown! The breakfast is delicious and he was able to book last minute excursions for us! Such a bang for your buck!!

Very reasonable price. The rooms are very clean. Very kind staff to help us. No AC, but at this altitude you will not need it.. 59° in April. The hottest month!

Freddy's B&B is an excellent, family-run business that serves the absolute BEST breakfast! Freddy also provided us with some leads to places to visit and a map to get there. We had a fabulous experience and will stay there again when we return To Costa Rica.

Family run B&B. The hosts are very helpful and truly want you to enjoy your stay and the sites in the area. You can walk to town center - good location. The breakfast is excellent.

Loved our stay with Freddy. His welcoming smile started our stay, and he made us very welcome. He helped arrange our night walk and zip line experience,which were both very solid recommendations. Room was very adequate for the price and included our best breakfast in Costa Rica.

Petit hotel de grande qualité

Notre séjour à été agréable, l'accueil est bon, la chambre spacieuse, bien éclairée, le matelas confortable; Le petit-déjeuner est fabuleux vous avez le choix entre plusieurs options, je recommande particulièrement le pan cake a la banane arrosé d'un caramel au coco. J'ai beaucoup voyagé à travers le monde, j'ai très rarement vu un petit déjeuner d'une telle qualité.

Freddy went above and beyond to make sure our stay was perfect. The breakfast that was included was delicious. He also gave us plenty of help planning our trip through Monteverde. There is a lot of noise from cars and motorcycles, but any hotel close to town will be the same. It was worth it for us because we were able to walk to town in less than 10 minutes. I highly recommend Freddys Place to anyone staying in the Monteverde region.

I stayed for two nights and really enjoyed my stay(s). I actually spent one night there and then the next night out in the forest and then was back there again on the third night. Freddy was extremely hospitable and service oriented. He even allowed me to keep my bag in the room and allowed me to hang on to the key during that middle night when I was not there. He helped me get oriented to the area, made recommendations and really made excellent breakfasts. I definitely recommend his breakfast sandwich and his banana pancakes. The room was clean and modern and had everything I needed. I was very pleased with the accommodations and thought it was a nice place to stay and a good value and I certainly enjoyed the hospitality that Freddy provided.

Great service, off the beaten path

Wonderful hospitality and service - very friendly staff. Off street parking was included as was tasty breakfast! Rooms were clean + comfortable (although due to timing there was construction going on early in the day). A bit of a walk to get to restaurants and things to do. Linens were ok quality.

Freddy was very friendly and accommodating. He was knowledgeable of the area and could answers any questions we had. The breakfast was awesome. You had a choice of about 6 different things, and Freddy prepared it with a gourmet style. I would definitely come back here.

First thing noticed was that the Lobby/Dining Room is not what is photoed on the website, it has plastic patio chairs, household items laying around. It is so noisy from dirt bikes, trucks and cars that you cannot sleep at night and also a screaming baby. The towels in the bathroom looked if they were used and refolded. I was booked for 4 nights and couldn't stay because of the conditions. I politely checked out at 11 AM. When I was asked why I was leaving early, I explained and the first thing said from Eddy was he cant do a refund it is too hard. I left and when i got settled in my new hotel, I contacted Expedia and then reached out to Eddy about a refund. He called me a liar and said that i didn't like the area, which wasn't true, that I wasn't getting a refund because I discredited his business. He said I slept through the breakfast, which i chose not to attend because if they refolded dirty towels you had to question the kitchen also. He said he checked on me 3 times and that i was sound asleep, when actually I was telling my family about the conditions and making new arrangements. I have never been treated so poorly and with such disrespect. I took pictures of the towels and Lobby/Dining area and happy to post as prove I am not a liar and Eddy runs a shoddy establishment.

Staff super friendly and extremely helpful in providing directions around the area. Breakfast was really good and made to order. The property is small but very functional with each room having its own outdoor sitting space. The only downside is there is no A/C and the room got hot at night because we had to close the sliding door in order to secure the room. Would have wanted a fan or a way to lock the sliding door partially open to allow airflow. Overall, a great location in the Monteverde area. For the price, I definitely recommend.

Freddys Place is a family-run bed and breakfast. It is clean, safe and walkable to town. It isn't fancy, but it is a good, simple and clean place to stay. Freddy, the owner, is so helpful and kind! The breakfasts are made to order and exceptional!
