Incredible to be IN the forest at the lodge. Many animals (including a howler monkey) on the grounds. Breakfast at the Hotel Ficus was great, a short walk away. Cabin was dated but fine. Enjoyed our time there.

Style chalet côte à côte. Les murs sont si mince que vous entendez les voisins comme s'ils étaient avec vous. Pas de réfrigérateur, ni d'air climatisé, ni de coffre fort. Le style est vieux comme les années 1970. C'est plutôt chère pour ce qu'on vous offre. Le déjeuner est bien.

Room had spider webs. Hair from previous guests on the floor. Rooms are dark. Staff was not helpful. Requested towels since cleaning staff removed old towels and did not replace. Told the front desk before leaving out to dinner. Returned with no change. Front desk response was he sent a message.

We had a nice stay at the Jaguarundi Lodge. There were definitely pluses and minuses to the accommodation. On the plus side, the staff was lovely and the cabin was very clean. It was definitely rustic, but was nestled in the jungle and so it was a cool immersive experience. We had coati, agouti and lots of birds at our doorstep. The breakfast buffet was very good and was served in their sister hotel, the Ficus. There was also a great happy hour there with a gorgeous view across the mountains to the ocean. The hotel was right in town so we could easily walk to restaurants. On the minus side, the cabin is adjoining another one. The walls were so thin that you could hear the neighbour rolling over in bed, snoring and chatting during the night. We had a great sleep the first night when the cabin next door was empty but after that it was noisy. The paths between the buildings are very steep. This wasn't a problem for us but it should be considered if you have mobility issues. Finally, we found a scorpion on our bag on the last morning. If you don't like creepy crawlies, you might not be happy here.

Clean rooms but some are quite uphill to get to. Very nice forest around and the trails are nice to walk in. The breakfast at Hotel Ficus next door was great. Ver close to shops and restaurants. Will visit again

No es muy buena opción de hospedaje el lugar es increíble me refiero a la zona, sin embargo las instalaciones no, el colchón literal se sienten los resortes, el agua caliente no es constante, comparten amenidades con otro hotel y es muy deficiente el servicio.

In a side-by-side sharing a wall. It’s true what they say about no noise barrier. Only stayed over one night. Fortunately we had a quiet neighbour. Great feel for being “in the jungle”

Parking was easy and free. Can’t beat this great location! Shops, restaurants, coffee shops, and grocery stores are all walkable. Very beautiful forest around the hotel and walking trails. We saw lots of wildlife from our room! The room is spacious and clean and the shower was very nice since it had good water pressure and a large shower head. The staff are very helpful and nice. The breakfast is very nice. I would definitely recommend this hotel and I’d would love to stay here again.

We stayed here in Dec 2025 and it was the only bad stay compared to 5 other hotels across costa rica. And the price was on par with the more expensive and upscale lodges. Avoid this lodge and stay at a better hotel with better amenities for pretty much the same price or less. It is a log cabin, no heater/ac, strong mosquito repellent smell in the room the first night. The bathroom was not good, all family skipped taking baths.

Great service and the room is spacious! But we could hear the guy in the room next to us snoring all night and in the morning clearly hearing the conversations in that room. The breakfast is fine with options.

It is a clean room.lots of green around it feels like you're in the judge. thats what I was looking forward to. Very thin walls. Uncomfortable bed. It is a very nice area.we didn't drive and was able to get around easily.

The location is gorgeous, you feel like you’re right in the middle of the rainforest! The staff at Jaguarundi are extremely helpful. Maria was wonderful at booking activities and communicating with us before we arrived and Arlet was amazing at providing helpful information and suggestions of things to do not only in Monteverde but also other areas of Costa Rica we were travelling to. Both are a great asset to the hotel. The breakfast is at the sister hotel a short 3mins walk away, and there is a good selection of food. In regards to the room, it is clean and the bathroom has a good shower. The only downside is the walls are extremely thin and we were able to hear every single sound and movement of the neighbours on both sides all throughout the night and in the early hours of the morning. This meant we slept quite badly during our stay. If there was a way to soundproof the rooms, this would be the perfect stay!
