Of the three hotels we stayed at in Costa Rica in similar price range, this was the best. The hotel is up in the mountains, is extremely well kept, have their own sloth sanctuary and trails behind that hotel that you can walk. The staff are quite nice, respectful and friendly. We had a great time.

This hotel was absolutely beautiful and each room was perfect for our stay. We traveled as a family of four and had two rooms that adjoined every staff member was so helpful, friendly, and truly went out of their way to make us feel special and to make sure we had an amazing vacation. This hotel was central to all of the excursions that you want to do in the surrounding area and close to many other restaurants off the property. The view from the hotel restaurant is breathtaking.

I do love this hotel the view and atmosphere, however, distance to our room was far they did helped us with our luggage and pretty sure they would at the end, but we didn’t ask it was a struggle especially with some of the walkways were steep. The pool was small and cute. The staff are very helpful when booking excursions. A lot of things to do around Monteverde.

We booked a single night here at the very last minute trying to escape the heat of the west coast beach towns. We were so glad we did. This hotel is absolutely stunning. We had one of the rooms upstairs from the lobby rather than one of the bungalows but the room was amazing with a spacious first floor, kitchenette, balcony and a very cool loft bedroom/bath. The grounds, particularly the park right next to the hotel, are stunning as is the view of the ocean and Nicoya Peninsula in the distances. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. This was our first time visiting Monteverde and we'll certainly include it on our future trips to CR. We would absolutely recommend a stay at Koora. It's not inexpensive but you really do get what you pay for. Very nice.

This was our honeymoon trip. I’ve stayed at a nice hotel in Monteverde before, but Koora was exceptional. Wonderful rooms, manicured grounds, and the best restaurant we ate at on our whole trip. The staff could not have been better, and our couples massage was simply the best.

The hotel and staff were wonderful. The restaurant was very good. We had dinner, lunch, and breakfast at the restaurant and enjoyed all of them. Only one downside, there was some kind of noise at night - we think it may have been trees banging against the roof of our room. It was loud enough it kept us up at night.

Beautiful hotel and very helpful staff both at reception and restaurant. Exceptional service. Rooms are beautiful and so clean. Very original set up with rooms spread out around property. Very scenic. It is hard to get to the hotel without transportation but the staff helps with everything and a taxi ride to the town is very inexpensive. So many tours that they arrange for you - all great. Highly recommended.

Lovely little hotel. We saw more wildlife at the reserve nextdoor than nearly anywhere on a trip. There was a sloth and baby that could be seen from the dining room all three days we were there. The staff was wonderful, especially Juan, Aaron, and Rachel.

Family Stay in Monteverde
This was the best service I’ve ever had at a hotel! Their attention to detail with our names, and the small gestures to make my kids feel special were amazing! Aaron was so great to take care of us everyday we were there. The room was beautiful and the food was excellent! We would definitely come back to this hotel!

Gorgeous hotel in the forest
Small, friendly beautiful hotel. Restaurant is gorgeous with spectacular views across to the pacific. Staff were excellent. Very well run. Manager, Marco has excellent recommendations of activities and tailored to us. We were in cabin that felt like we were hanging from the trees. Such a special place.

My father and I spent three nights at the Koora, on our dream vacation. It was truly amazing! The service was first class. Kenneth was very helpful and a pleasure to talk to. He booked us an excursion on very short notice, packed us a breakfast-to-go before we headed out in the morning, and gave us a lot of good advice. The food in their restaurant was as good as you will find anywhere. We watched the monkeys swing through the trees just off the restaurant balcony. They even have a "private" preserve attached to the hotel where we took a beautiful evening hike. Very clean, very friendly, very beautiful place. I hope to see them again soon.

It is a literal contruction zone. They like to me about this before arrival and then we were stuck paying for a night there since we got in too late to stay anywhere else. $415 a night to be surrounded by a 7am construction crew building facilities all around us!

A really beautiful hotel with the best staff I’ve ever experienced. Very thoughtful and attentive and knew my whole family’s name instantly. The restaurant at the hotel is incredible, the food and drinks were 5 star and the view from the restaurant was so beautiful. We saw coatis in the morning, a sloth in the tree outside the lobby and howler moneys in the beautiful trail behind the hotel. It was truly a memorable experience and I would highly recommend staying at this hotel.

What a lovely property! Our family bungalow was like living in a treehouse with a view all the way to the Pacific. We saw many birds and animals right on the property. The staff was very friendly and helpful and knew us all by name. We ate at the restaurant several times and the quality and service was excellent. Cannot say enough good things. Our family truly enjoyed our stay.

The Koora Hotel was incredible, and greatly exceeded our expectations! Marco and the rest of the staff were wonderful, recommending the best activities for our family and booking all our tours for us (including guided tours to see wildlife, ziplining, and horseback riding--each a great experience). The hotel is beautiful, clean, and eco-friendly, the view from the restaurant is unparalleled, and the food is amazing! The service is top notch. We were blown away by our experience, and would highly recommend this hotel!

Marco and staff were so welcoming, friendly, and helpful. The customer service was incredible and the property was stunning. Of all our stays in Costa Rica it was our favorite! We cannot recommend it enough!

The location was private with beautiful views and right next door to the Aguti Reserve to hike through with multiple animal sightings. We stayed in a lovely 2 story unit that was well designed, had comfortable beds and visiting animals on the deck and in the trees. The lobby was wonderful with family games (checkers, dominos, chess), heaters, cocktails/cocoa, dining area with more great views and a friendly vacation feeling. The best was the staff, Kenneth, Marco and the others were amazing. They took great care of all our needs and felt like our own personal concierge for the area. We highly recommend staying here if in the area.
