It was simple and clean and the staff was noice - location is really great! Good spot for just sleeping and taking shower (I wouldn't stay more than a night or 2 here but will 100% come back!)

Laundry services is not easily available (there is not nearby laundry shop but around kilometet away and electric port is only in the common arr not in the pod however the frontdesk is accommodating. The pod is nice and lightings and ventilation are good. Comforrability to sleep is fine.

This is my second time staying at Hygie! The reception is always a delight! As soon as we got there, we were not comfortable with the room that we had booked (which is our fault for not paying attention). We were able to upgrade to a King suite for a pretty reasonable price for such short delay! The place was very clean, calm and had common areas that we could use! Would definitely recommend Hygie to anyone!

Front desk, Ahmad was good and helpful. Bed and suit condition, acceptable. Since located in downtown, no need to use the vehicle. However, number of showers and washroom compared to number of people doesn't fit. Also, kitchen and washroom could be cleaner, & they need someone cleaner. Overall 👍

There are no towels when you shower and the shower smelled like cigarette smoke. We had to be switched into 4 different pods due to them being dirty. The pods are super noisy at night, we could hear every time the person above us moved and it was hard to sleep. No air flow in the pods either. Staff was super nice and kind, they were the highlight. But this would not be good for more than a few hours of rest.

Great Staff but you may get a lemon module

it's a Hostel and it looked quit modern and the modules are supposed to be sound proof but my bottom bunk was do squeaky that every time I tossed to one side the whole module would squeak leaving no peace for my neughbours and my back was just killing me every night the mattress was so thin I could feel the steel bar underneath my back all night ,... I got the lemon bed I assumed ... and I felt the place needed to be sprayed for bugs had to wash all my cloths at the laundry mate to make sure I was taking on any viditors... I must say it's cheap and you a lousy bed well you pay for what you get for. Nonetheless the staff where found regularly cleaning and courteous .... Madelaine made a good impression on me and thus the reason I stayed the full three nights. If go to a hostel remember to request a good functioning module .... it's in the old Montreal section which is a perfect location to access the historical sites of this great city.

Dirty feet smell and couple doing the nasty but ex

It could have been great (you can't beat location, it's amazing) except the pod we were assigned didn't have A/C so we had to open the door of the pod and have everybody walk past by us at all times... the cleanliness was not the best, floors were sticky and there was a dirty feet smell that was only masked with aerosol sprays...they only have 1 bathroom and 1 shower and the kktchen area is kinda nasty too.... also there was a young couple that was getting it on all night until we had to shush them because the girls growns were getting louder and louder by the second... so if you are willing to overlook that then this is the place for you

Overall: not great but good location

Big meh for this place. Though relatively new it’s definitely showing hard wear that hasn’t been repaired. Many of the pods had doors missing and replaced with blinds. The airflow system in the pods was virtually non-existant. The courtyard to outside was inaccessible due to mattresses and equipment blocking the doors. The mattresses in the pods were creaky and not great. There were no rules posted for quiet times and a few guests were playing the television very late into the night. The only reason I’d suggest staying here is that the location is very good and the staff were pleasant.

The property is well situated. It’s 5 minutes away from the city center and we only walked there. The staff was very friendly and available. And those are the only good things. Unfortunately the place was not clean. There’s just 1 bathroom and 1 washroom and they didn’t clean them daily. So if you wanted to take a shower you have to wait for the person that was in there and you never know how long they are going to take( so maybe take a shower an hour before the actual time you want to get out). Plus there wasn’t a pleasant smell in the bathroom. The second morning we woke up we found a really big surprise in the toilet (not gonna comment on that). It was really disgusting and unfortunately we couldn’t use it!

Sleeping in a capsule was something I’d always wanted to try, and it went even better than I expected. The place was super clean, quiet, and well-designed. Inside the capsule, there was a fan, adjustable lighting, a mirror, star-style ceiling lights, and even a motorized light feature. It also had an Android TV, USB fast charger, and USB-C charger — things you don’t always get even in luxury hotels! For the price, it's a fantastic option for solo travelers, professionals, and even couples, since they offer both single and double pods. The hotel also has secure lockers, a cozy living room, a dining area, and clean washrooms and showers. Special shoutout to Hicham at the front desk — he was super friendly, polite, and helpful. Highly recommend — 100%! 🙌

This place is a good option for backpackers, especially if you’re traveling light. It’s very convenient if you’re not bringing much with you. However, be aware that they don’t provide locks for the lockers in the two-person pods. There’s also no shampoo, soap, or towels provided, so make sure to bring your own. Bring your own water as well, since they don’t refill their water dispenser. The microwave and fridge are available but not well maintained. On the plus side, the location is excellent—very convenient and close to many of Montreal’s top attractions.

Extremely disappointing room experience.” The room was dirty and poorly maintained. Bedsheets had stains, the bathroom smelled bad, and basic hygiene was missing. The AC was not working properly, lights were broken, and there was constant noise. Housekeeping did not respond even after repeated calls. Definitely not worth the money and far below basic standards. I would never book this room again

The staff left and nobody was at checkout. I told the man my key didn’t work for the second bathroom and he didn’t fix it. No ac or air in dorms and no paper towel or dryer in bathroom. I get it’s a hostel but it felt rundown and neglected. How is there not a staff overnight? Not safe!

Hygie Hostel was okay, but not as advertised. The “door” to the pod was just a paper curtain, which is very different from what was shown in the pictures. It didn’t feel secure or private at all — definitely not somewhere I would be comfortable letting my daughters stay.
