Stay at MCML was okay…not the best, but definitely not the worst we’ve stayed at. For the price point, for a one night stay, it met our needs. It is an older motor lodge style property, with some updates. Seemed fairly clean. El Grande room was pretty tight for a king bed. All in all, we were satisfied, but would likely choose somewhere else for a longer stay.

Hotel owner has done a great job making the hotel modern and clean. Parking and proximity to the roadway are only flaws…but they are minor. Great outdoor area and grab and gos for breakfast were outstanding.

Great location after a long day of hiking at Black Canyon. Quality linens. Appreciated the snacks and beverages in the lobby. Warm welcome and superior communication. Wished we could have stayed longer.

I was stuck in Montrose for the night because of United Airlines. The airport was completely closed by 230pm. So i was not having a good day. I was greeted by Clinton and Monty (adorable Yorkie) at the front desk. Clinton was very nice and helpful. Checked the room to make sure it was cleaned. The rooms are nice! Looks like they have been updated with tile floors, paint and some of the furniture. The bathroom looked updated. Even tho it is on the street they have a quaint outside fenced area with picnic table and fire pit.

Simple, basic motor hotel = motel = easy access to car, easy loading. They have updated the rooms simply but still stylish. Great manager.

We liked the new look and the upgrades. It is directly on highway 50 so it can be busy with traffic passing by. But that calms down at night. It's neat, clean, convenient and reasonable. We'll stay again for sure!

I'm amazed this place has any good reviews. I guess it would seem ok if you've never stayed anywhere that is nicer. This is a remodeled old hotel. There are far better options in Montrose.

We really enjoyed our stay at this motel. It was nice surprise to learn the pet fee is only $35 now! The bed was super comfortable - we really appreciated 4 comfortable pillows! The grab and go is also really nice , we liked being able to grab a snack and a quick breakfast

Where to begin everything was perfect from the easy check in to the helpful gal Kara at the front desk. The property has been remodeled you can definitely tell pride of ownership because the remodel is impressive the pictures don’t do enough justice this will be my go to spot from now on.

This place is great. The rooms are a bit small but very clean and nicely renovated. The bed is super comfy. the staff is very friendly and responsive. Clinton really went above and beyond to help us. We would definitely stay here again.

Loved the modern updates. The room was extremely clean. The bed was very very comfortable. We had a room right next to the road. It was a little loud with traffic (not that it could have been avoided) but by the time we went to sleep traffic died down and I didnt even notice. I really liked how affordable it was. So glad I gave this place a chance - will be staying here again. Only reccomedation I would give would be to have some fruit options for the grab and go breakfast

Minecar is a great place to stay. The property is clean and nicely renovated. We stayed in room 108. There was a noise outside our room the majority of the night. The next morning, we found an extension cord had been hitting the building. Other than that, we enjoyed our stay and will be back.

Plusses: 1. Friendly, accommodating staff. 2. Well-maintained, clean room. 3. Good price. Minuses: 1. No independent heat for the bathroom. 2. "Breakfast" consists of a couple choices of granola bars and a couple choices of oatmeal cups. 3. The metal guard around the bottom of the bed sounds like an amplified drummer's cymbal any time anything touches it. 4. One must be very careful to be sure the door closes properly. Twice, the door blew open, once during the middle of the night and again in the morning, while I was away getting a real breakfast. Granted, the door is not broken, but I wouldn't have imagined needing to exert such force to close the door properly.

It’s exactly all you need.
Good little place to crash. If all you need is a bed, shower and bath, you’ve got the right place. If you’re a snob, move on. Friendly staff. Great remodel of the whole motel. Very comfortable.

They did a great job rennovating this little motel. The staff was super nice and friendly. This wasn't some quick flip job, it seemed like the owners really cared and do a great job running the business.

Good for a rest. Comfortable no frills. The breakfast on the go was great for hitting the road early. Good food nearby. Parking was a little tight for our 2500 but manageable.

Budget hotel in Montrose
Roadside motel near downtown Montrose. Rooms were clean, but tiny (not even a chair in the room). No amenities. Remote check-in, with no one in office. Good choice if you are trying to save money, but you will not want to spend any time in the room.
