"Pros: close to city centre, wonderful staff, excellent breakfast. Cons: the room/bed was extremely uncomfortable. We both woke up with tons of back pain, it was like sleeping on a pull out couch. I woke up multiple times in the night as the room was also very hot. The room was very dated, although clean. If rooms get updated, I would recommend. Otherwise, I would not return."

"Stayed 1 night before taking a cruise. We took a train from Bologna and walked from the train station to the hotel. It was not difficult and we would absolutely stay here again. We took the stairs to our room except to take the luggage up, it is a very small elevator but a great memory. The room and bed were small by US standards but the bathroom was a very good size and the bed was comfortable. I loved that our windows opened to a courtyard. "Posizione molto comoda, vicinissimo al centro della città. La signora Giuseppina ci ha fornito tutte le informazioni per accedere, per cui la mancanza di una reception non si è proprio sentita. "The staff at Santa Maria Foris were very friendly and welcoming, especially the ‘front of house’ lady. The room was of a very good size, quiet and cool (when outside it was 30+C). Nice shady and quiet gardens. Good WiFi, free coffee, and a garage for secure off-street parking. The hotel is very well located for all of the main historical sites, good restaurants and the main market. We had a lovely stay and really enjoyed Ravenna. Thank you!"
