"nicely renovated property with bespoke feel. lobby was lively and outdoor space with swings and fire pit was enjoyable. pool area nice but the hot tub was overrun by kids. we were in a family suite for 4 but our room had only two towels and we kept having to call for more. best value for price in the area. will stay again."

"There are people permanently living in this hotel. Not sure where they were living before but there are some serious characters that hangout in the lobby and around the property. Did not feel very safe. Would not recommend for anyone with a family or children."

"Clean room and nice lobby. The rooms were very small for our family of 3. There is no soundproofing at all in the room. Lots of echoes and you can clearly hear neighbors through the wall making it really difficult to sleep."

"Guest service was great. Shout out to the guy at check in. Did not get his name but he was so nice and helpful. I was nervous we wouldn’t like this place because I thought I booked a one bedroom but it was just a studio. Still felt so nice and enjoyed our time there. Check out was 12 and that’s a huge plus."

"What an amazing, peaceful stay at Simpson House! The staff was wonderful, making us feel extra special for our anniversary. They gave us helpful recommendations and were just so nice and wonderful. The grounds are absolutely beautiful. It’s like your staying in the middle of magical garden. It’s also walking distance to State St shops and restaurants. 5 stars all the way!"

"Nice clean spacious corner Mountain View room. Bathroom was modern and clean. Huge balcony with table and lounge area. Only drawback was lots of car traffic and noise on street which was not very relaxing. Also would’ve used the pool area but there was no jacuzzi and it was too cold to only use the pool. Overall very nice place to stay."

"Location was decent for us in proximity to our family. The property had a recent “facelift” which looks nice at first, but upon closer observation, not great quality. You can hear everything from everyone’s room, girls coming in after midnight drunk, laughing, giggling being loud and obnoxious is annoying, or the couple fighting and someone stomping around above us. The air conditioner was loud, but you had to run it. Otherwise it was stuffy in the room. The mattress was so uncomfortable, worst...

"The WiFi was good and so were the beds. The staff was very helpful and pleasant. The fridge was handy but the freezer was solid ice. I didn’t like the shower because I needed to reach way around a glass partition to turn the water on and off. Very awkward! Had to kneel on the floor to accomplish this. I liked the grocery store right across the street so we could get something for breakfast."
