"On our 3 wk Euro-travel, our 4 nights at Villa Montmartre were my favorite (Paris not my fave city-this changed my mind!) In a "real" area with tasty reasonably priced restaurants like Le Petit Blue or Sacre Fleur (the latter a bit more $ but great value), 5 min from the Chateau Rouge metro & a block from the Rue Muller stairs up the side of Montmartre, you couldn't be better situated. "For doing everything virtual this went smoothly. The place was clean and secure. Through no fault of the property the neighborhood was quite noisy at night we'll past 11pm. The location was convenient, but one of streets was just a little sketchy. We didn't have any problems, just people hanging around kind of doing nothing. We just used the other approach, which was a pleasant street with cafe's.
It was very small, so a good home base, but not really a place to do more than sleep.
