"I really enjoyed my overall experience at Hotel ZaZa in the Museum District. The location is amazing—right next to many of Houston’s best museums and attractions, surrounded by beautiful parks and lush green spaces. The lobby has a great atmosphere, parking is very convenient, and the staff throughout the hotel were consistently warm, friendly, and helpful.
The room views are spectacular. I especially recommend the Junior Suite—the space and views really elevated the experience.
There are, however, some areas that could use improvement. The rooms feel surprisingly under-equipped for a hotel at this level: not enough complimentary water, no silverware, and no in-room tea or coffee setup. Some of the furniture and appliances, particularly the refrigerator and TVs, also feel dated and could use better maintenance or upgrading.
I was also underwhelmed by Monarch, the hotel restaurant. The food and overall dining experience were only mediocre. Given the hotel’s fantastic location and atmosphere, it’s a shame the restaurant isn’t a destination in its own right. It has a lot of potential but could certainly benefit from stronger management and greater attention to the quality of the overall dining experience.
Overall, I had a very enjoyable stay and would return, particularly for the unbeatable location, wonderful staff, and incredible views. With some updates to the rooms and improvements to the restaurant, Hotel ZaZa could offer a truly outstanding experience."
