"Holiday Inn Express & Suites Ely by IHG is the best alternative, in my opinion, to The Prospector Casino right next door. Breakfast is filling and free coffee is available in the lobby 24/7 for the coffee lovers like me. The not so good was that the fridge in my room did not have a freezer, as a result, I had to eat the 3 frozen meals I brought with me all at once, otherwise they would have gone bad; the ice machine on my floor was not working, and the staff could be a tad friendlier. ...

"This is a great find in Ely. There is a bit of construction on the main drag but once done, it will be so much nicer and the downtown will be revitalized. This property is walking distance from downtown. They gave us a breakfast voucher for a local restaurant (in walking distance) and the food was top notch. The property is vintage, but relatively peaceful and super clean and tidy. I'm pretty sure it's headed for boutique chic in a few years. "

The hotel is super old, the bed and pillows are terrible, sheets stained , I didn’t even take a shower because the bathtub was stained and it grossed me out. The carpet is dirty and torn, There’s no microwave or refrigerator in the rooms (#114). By 7 PM there’s no one at the front desk anymore you need to call them and of course NO ANSWER!! "Weird to walk in and walk to a screen in the lobby, but whatever, I can adapt, but there is nothing like a kind, warm body behind a desk. The person on the screen in check in was hard to understand and seemed annoyed when I couldn’t understand him. Room was super small and the ‘renovation’ was poorly done….caulking that looked like a kindergartener did it and missing tiles. Dirty back board on bed. Dirty TV that didn’t work well. Lawn was weedy and over-grown. Hair, not my hair on the bathroom...

"Dirty room, no soap to wash hands, only a half used toilet paper, the rug in that room was so old and dirty. Only because we were on the road for most of that day we stood there. Over priced by Expedia.com"
