"A very comfortable stay for us on a road trip. The property is located in the mountains, about 30-45 minutes to the coastline where all the actions are. Rooms were very clean and spacious. We had rooms that overlook the ski lifts. We went during the quiet season so there was limited dining options. "Akakura Onsen is a small town and everything is fairly close by but thanks to the hotel we enjoyed discounts to renting the ski equipment at the shop nearby. We also enjoyed private use of the onsen for half hour each day and the English-speaking hotel stuff was super friendly and helpful."

"I knew I wanted to snowboard at Lotte Arai Resort but I read that it was in a very small town and basically only the resort buildings so i picked this spot because they offered a free shuttle to the nearby mountains. (Not Lotte though its a 40 minute drive and I had to get a separate bus. It was very easy though and the owner was able to help me figure it all out.
