"Room smelled like cigarette smoke. Very noisy. No blanket, only sheet. No windows. Person was not there to check me in. Only one functional shower for multiple people. Would not recommend. "

"My ETA was well past the last check in, but a member of staff was kind enough to stay behind. The dorm had 4 bunkbeds, an AC unit and a fan. The AC and fan worked well. Each guest was given a towel and a locker big enough to hold a large backpack. The bed had an Asian style firm mattress and a thin sheet, a private light, 2 sockets and a small shelf. "Fantastic stay at Eskapo Verde Lodge, Moalboal! This place exceeded expectations. Very clean, quiet, and well maintained, with a relaxing green atmosphere that really lets you unwind. The staff are genuinely friendly, helpful, and professional. The rooms are comfortable, the location is convenient, and everything feels well organized. Perfect base for exploring Moalboal, including the sardine run. Great value for money. I would definitely stay here again and highly recommend"

"Small hostel in a great location. The owners are super nice and booked our canyoneering tour for us, and rented us snorkels for our whole stay. The room was nice enough, no frills but good for what we needed. The shared bathroom was not great though, and could do with some attention. The sliding front door was also very stiff and awkward to use, which was a bit annoying. "Our stay at the Backyard Inn was nothing short of a nightmare. The experience felt like actually sleeping outside with the chickens. The pod smelled of chicken waste, the sink didn’t drain, and the noise was unbearable—constant chicken noises, roosters crowing, and no peace or quiet to rest. We couldn’t wait to leave. The only saving grace was the staff, who were friendly and helpful, but that does not make up for the dreadful conditions. I would never stay here again. Avoid this place unless...
