"My son and I traveled from Canada 🇨🇦. Newtonmore is a very quiet, quaint village. The Glen was a very lovely central place to stay. The room was clean, staff very attentive and helpful.Meals were amazing with breakfast included in your stay except Mondays. There is a diner a short walk away, and a couple of cafes down the street. We loved it. "

"Staff are great and helpful. Our room, on the second floor, was too far away to get internet to make the smart tv function. Our room was quite noisy facing the road and the railway. Other than those small gripes it’s a lovely friendly place with a good breakfast. The staff did all they could to fix the TV problems. "

"Nice hotel. If you want a tv you need to have a room on the second floor but who needs a tv nowadays when there is WiFi. Very comfortable bed and lovely big bathroom."

"The food is great but very expensive, although Ballater is an expensive place to stay. Evening meal and bar lovely, breakfast amazing. Nice feel to the hotel, very traditional and cosy. We stayed in a standard room, which is basic. Mattress and pillows felt cheap, it overlooked properties but there was no net curtain to offer privacy, dusty, TV had no apps to log into, noise from downstairs clearly audible, door in the hallway made a creaking noise. We were pretty disappointed as the next...

"Our stay was fabulous, beautiful country house very clean and very comfortable room. Excellent breakfast and the hosts are fabulous. Homemade shortbread in room so good with tea and coffee facilities. "
