"Beautiful hotel, helpful staff, and the most convenient to transit. Rooms were great, with the exception that there was no desk to work from, just as small round table next to the couch. Really no place to work from, if you needed to in the city view room we had (which has a great view looking up at the details of the Chrysler building)."

"Under new management this icon from the days of Thomas Edison is improving. Always the most convenient choice for folks coming into Penn Station and wanting a location across from Madison Square Garden and central to Manhattan and its many transportation methods, this former masterpiece was allowed to decline over the decades. On the floor I was ensconced on the latest trip, I saw what renovation can do. New carpet, paint and bath fixtures gave the hotel a much cleaner, more modern feel. The rooms are still small, with mostly queen beds and small desks and there are a few annoying habits of the staff as you might expect at such a big hotel - like knocking on your "Do Not Disturb" tagged door at 9:00 in the morning to see when you'll be free so they can do the room and only putting decaf coffee pods in the rooms because "that's all they gave us". Leaking seals on my brand new shower door - easily mopped up with the towels - and an extremely loud flushing toilet were other annoyances, but minor. Expect major mobs lobbying around the "roaring 20's"-era lobby and even a line to get out the revolving main door and you've got an accurate picture. Overall, this hotel is moving up and, especially when it's the most fiscally responsible choice in this area in this quality range (look for deals about 3 weeks before check-in) can be a good choice."

"Rooms were super clean. A little small but that’s standard for NYC. Super close to Times Square- like a 8 min walk. Lots of restaurants and bars and bakeries very close by. Train /metro very close walk. It was the perfect location for someone in NYC!!! Was very happy with my stay."

"Security is great, have to use your room key to get on the elevators the use your key to go to the floor your staying on, have umbrellas to use for free during your stay, free use of robes during your stay, free breakfast for 2. Rooms are very clean and nice, very comfortable beds"

"Hotel is like a city with 2000 rooms and the lobby starts from 8 floor onwards Rooms are clean and tidy , the staff are very hospitable , and the breakfast spread aa Alacarte or buffet was great as you have two options to choose Only one concern is that being Elite Gold plus is useless in Mariott as it does not have any privileges or importance. I am a gold Elite plus member but I found it useless,being platinum or titanium has its advantages of room upgrade or using the the club facilities or early in ,late check out advantages"

"The Air conditioning was not on during our stay and the room heated up very fast. The hotel staff were wonderful though and brought a fan to the room to help with the heat."
